Mr X Posted 25 July, 2013 Posted 25 July, 2013 Admittedly not the best of footballers but he scored some vital goals for saints and definitely did his bit to put us on the path to where we are now so calling him that is a little disrespectful
paulwantsapint Posted 25 July, 2013 Posted 25 July, 2013 Raises the question do the yanks know that they are getting Bradley not Shaun Could have been a good player if only he had consentrated on training & not fishy nightclubs

Suhari Posted 25 July, 2013 Posted 25 July, 2013 Admittedly not the best of footballers but he scored some vital goals for saints and definitely did his bit to put us on the path to where we are now so calling him that is a little disrespectful Agreed. He helped to add momentum to our plummet, so enabling the magnificent bounce and subsequent rise we are still enjoying. I think he should get a place on the forum banner.
Downthe36 Posted 25 July, 2013 Posted 25 July, 2013 I can only assume the Yanks accidentally signed the wrong one, and the right one wouldn't have been much to gloat about either!
BadgerBadger Posted 26 July, 2013 Posted 26 July, 2013 Is his agent King Jaffe Joffer ruler of Zamunda played by the voice of Darth Vader
BristolSaint Posted 26 July, 2013 Posted 26 July, 2013 The "Yanks" in question actually have Andy Roxburgh as director of football, the former Scotland Manager, you would hope he knows the difference.
Buenos Aires Saint Posted 26 July, 2013 Posted 26 July, 2013 He robs from the states.... He robs from the staaaaaaaaaaatesssss....
Mattio Posted 26 July, 2013 Posted 26 July, 2013 Wasn't he basically a free as we got him with money from some coke competition? Sent from my HTC EVO 3D X515m using Tapatalk 2
LVSaint Posted 26 July, 2013 Posted 26 July, 2013 Raises the question do the yanks know that they are getting Bradley not Shaun They're getting this... Not this....
Smirking_Saint Posted 26 July, 2013 Posted 26 July, 2013 He really wasn't as bad as people make out. He was The hero worship at times was cringeworthy TBH
bangkoksaint Posted 26 July, 2013 Posted 26 July, 2013 Doesn't he have a criminal conviction from that nightclub incident? .........might prove to be problematic in getting a visa
jjsaint Posted 26 July, 2013 Posted 26 July, 2013 BWP is: 1. English 2. Breathing Therefore good enough for MLS...
Kingsland Red Posted 26 July, 2013 Posted 26 July, 2013 As the bloke behind me always advised BWP regularly during matches: " If your dad wasn't Ian Wright, you'd be a dustman, you useless piece of sh*te". Harsh but fair.
Toon Saint Posted 26 July, 2013 Posted 26 July, 2013 Agreed. He helped to add momentum to our plummet, so enabling the magnificent bounce and subsequent rise we are still enjoying. I think he should get a place on the forum banner.
Colinjb Posted 26 July, 2013 Posted 26 July, 2013 Good League 1 player, out of his depth in the Championship. Still can't believe we wasted that Coca Cola prize money on him.... even if he was considered a coup at the time. Remember the away game at Coventry when he could have been given all day and still wouldn't have converted a one-on-one if it came.
Kingsland Red Posted 26 July, 2013 Posted 26 July, 2013 BWP and McGoalrush ( and his casual penalty misses), probably Saints worse ever attacking "threat". Even Ricardo "Barndoor" Fuller showed more enthusiasm for hitting row Z.
Chez Posted 26 July, 2013 Posted 26 July, 2013 At least BWP chased the countless useless hoofs our midfield made to no one until he got tired. McGoaldraught hardly moved from a ten yard patch just past the half way line. The laziest player I have ever seen, including Stern John (just).
Charlie Wayman Posted 26 July, 2013 Posted 26 July, 2013 This is a ridiculous OP, what the hell has this got to do with us or football? Talk about a waste of space, people must be bored stupid to posit offensive tripe like this.
Window Cleaner Posted 26 July, 2013 Posted 26 July, 2013 Is his agent King Jaffe Joffer ruler of Zamunda played by the voice of Darth Vader bet he doesn't end up sweeping up in a fast food though. Good film, before Eddie Murphy started overacting.
Hamilton Saint Posted 26 July, 2013 Posted 26 July, 2013 This thread is a good example of the "whipping boy" syndrome discussed on another thread.
Bearsy Posted 26 July, 2013 Posted 26 July, 2013 Looks like he's been hitting the McDowell's pretty hard
buctootim Posted 26 July, 2013 Posted 26 July, 2013 Did we tell them the Thames was really the Missisippee as well?
LVSaint Posted 26 July, 2013 Posted 26 July, 2013 Did we tell them the Thames was really the Missisippee as well? Good spot!
Danny R Posted 27 July, 2013 Posted 27 July, 2013 Didn't his opta stats show he covered most ground than any player, in his first full professional season? Anyone who was at Preston away will have a soft spot for DMG.
BlakeySFC Posted 27 July, 2013 Posted 27 July, 2013 The MLS is such a shyte league I can't believe anyone watches it.
Special K Posted 28 July, 2013 Posted 28 July, 2013 As a player he was alright. Unfortunately this thread is another example from the sizeable moronic element our fan base has. Neither funny nor informative. Just pathetic.
sammysaint Posted 28 July, 2013 Posted 28 July, 2013 Had potential but never fulfilled it, maybe due to his off the field antics. However did play well at times for us, i went to most games in his time here, i thought some games when he looked up for it, his work rate was amazing and he scored some great goals for us, i think Leeds at home if i remember was a goal that helped keep us in the hunt for the playoffs and changed the momentum that season.
Jonnyboy Posted 28 July, 2013 Author Posted 28 July, 2013 As a player he was alright. Unfortunately this thread is another example from the sizeable moronic element our fan base has. Saint_clark Posted 28 July, 2013 Posted 28 July, 2013 As a player he was alright. Unfortunately this thread is another example from the sizeable moronic element our fan base has. Neither funny nor informative. Just pathetic. Indeed, he was a decent Championship level player. If he'd stayed after relegation to league one he'd probably only have fallen out of the first team squad at the start of last season - and certainly would have had more of an impact than De Ridder in our promotion campaign.
trousers Posted 31 October, 2014 Posted 31 October, 2014 http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/bradley-wright-phillips-continues-fine-form-4540913 Bradley Wright-Phillips continued his record-breaking form with a brace in the MLS Playoffs on Thursday night. The New York Red Bulls striker matched the league record with an impressive 27 goals in 32 games, outscoring the likes of Robbie Keane, Jermain Defoe and Landon Donovan. The tally saw Wright-Phillips become the first Englishman in history to win the MLS Golden Boot
farawaysaint Posted 31 October, 2014 Posted 31 October, 2014 That just proves how utterly ****e their league is. Pelle was a late bloomer and until now had scored all his goals in a ****e league. Maybe BWP has finally come into his own?
shurlock Posted 31 October, 2014 Posted 31 October, 2014 That just proves how utterly ****e their league is. Their league still managed to field a national team that put England to shame in the WC.
scotty Posted 31 October, 2014 Posted 31 October, 2014 Their league still managed to field a national team that put England to shame in the WC. What does penis envy have to do with it?
dubai_phil Posted 31 October, 2014 Posted 31 October, 2014 I'm kinda looking forward to USA SoccerGuy bringing out a hit single on ITunes for BWP as he overtakes Landon Donovan in the Great God of MLS stakes. It'll be up there with checking out the League position of the skates every season in the list of delicious ironies in life
david in sweden Posted 31 October, 2014 Posted 31 October, 2014 another example of a player finding a place in the right team in the right league at the right time - and it fits his ability. As I recall, he scored more goals for Saints as an oncoming sub. than he ever did when picked to start games, when he was frequently subbed off himself. Pleased for him, but at his stage (and age)in his career, he's better off earning big bucks in the U.S. than harbouring thoughts of a return to the Football League. Championship level ...on a good day.
david in sweden Posted 31 October, 2014 Posted 31 October, 2014 Their league still managed to field a national team that put England to shame in the WC. Maybe not all domestic, I can't recall their line-up for that game, but I think there were a number of players who are with PL clubs ?..or ..
Miltonaggro Posted 31 October, 2014 Posted 31 October, 2014 As the bloke behind me always advised BWP regularly during matches: " If your dad wasn't Ian Wright, you'd be a dustman, you useless piece of sh*te". Harsh but fair. Always speaks his mind Dave Merrington...

John Boy Saint Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Biggest frustration with him was that he had so many opportunities to shine and be a superstar for us, but because his vision was clouded by thinking he already had that status handed to him on a plate when he signed he always came up short.
Secret Site Agent Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Are you sure that it's not just Brad and Angelina are adopting him?
