Pilchards Posted 26 July, 2013 Posted 26 July, 2013 Or: I asked them if we can have a South coast double with Pompey top of the league, the reply was 'better chance of Saints signing Messi & Ronaldo.'
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd Posted 26 July, 2013 Posted 26 July, 2013 Personally I can't see Saint being top 10 at the end of Sept.
SaintBobby Posted 27 July, 2013 Posted 27 July, 2013 (edited) Personally I can't see Saint being top 10 at the end of Sept. We'll probably be relegated then. The first handful of games are quite easy. If you "can't see Saints being top 10 at then end of Sept", then you must be pretty certain we'll be relegated. Edited 27 July, 2013 by SaintBobby
Rut Posted 27 July, 2013 Posted 27 July, 2013 6 very winnable games (I include away at Lpool - it ain't the 80's anymore). Ask Paddy Power if they will take USA based customers for this bet. I'd have some of that 25/1. For the usual 'tommy tankers' then nobody is saying Saints WILL be top after 6 games - but 25/1 does have a bit of value. I'd have some of it if I could. Take it.
Hatch Posted 27 July, 2013 Posted 27 July, 2013 Just for the record, Chelsea will be top at the end of September.
skintsaint Posted 27 July, 2013 Posted 27 July, 2013 we are 50/1 to win the fa cup thats a better bet.
Sour Mash Posted 27 July, 2013 Posted 27 July, 2013 thats a better bet. It is, no harm chucking a couple of quid on that at all. The 25/1 for us to be top at the start of October really isn't good value.
Batman Posted 27 July, 2013 Posted 27 July, 2013 does any ever do a flutter on who will win the 4 divisions? must be hard to get a return on that
CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 27 July, 2013 Posted 27 July, 2013 Well it's potentially not a bad month for us fixture wise, but West Brom away being described as a "quite easy" prospect does kinda set the alarm bells ringing. ... I hasten to add that the above should not be taken to signify that I think we're dead certs for relegation either!
Saint Garrett Posted 27 July, 2013 Posted 27 July, 2013 does any ever do a flutter on who will win the 4 divisions? must be hard to get a return on that I occasionally do it on each ways....never won yet! keeps interest going though in other leagues so worth a quid or two.
Latheal Posted 27 July, 2013 Posted 27 July, 2013 does any ever do a flutter on who will win the 4 divisions? must be hard to get a return on that Have done it before, closest I got was 2 out 4. Going to go or"to be promoted + to finish in top 4 prem" this year in stead. Keeps it more interesting (hopefully) right to the end.
chocco boxo Posted 27 July, 2013 Author Posted 27 July, 2013 Thanks for that St Garrett. Poor value though. Might have 20 on it though.
KK the 2nd Posted 28 July, 2013 Posted 28 July, 2013 thats a better bet. I agree. also 50/1 for the League Cup. More realistic and better odds.
Window Cleaner Posted 28 July, 2013 Posted 28 July, 2013 you can 25/1 on Mayuka being our top scorer next season.....probably a better bet.
Ewell Posted 28 July, 2013 Posted 28 July, 2013 We'll probably be relegated then. The first handful of games are quite easy. If you "can't see Saints being top 10 at then end of Sept", then you must be pretty certain we'll be relegated. What a load of rubbish. No match in the Premier league is easy. Granted some matches look more daunting than others but going to any teams ground in the Premier League and winning is very tough. In fact Saints have made a habit of winning the matches against the top teams but blowing it against the so call smaller sides. QPR and West Brom at home under Pochettino come to mind and there are many other examples of this before he was in charge. If you also look at the results we got in the respective fixtures against the teams we play in the first 5 matches (wont include match 6 Crystal Palace for obvious reasons) then I think we got no more than a couple of points last season. There are some barmy views on this site and a few of you will be bitterly disappointed when we get a 2 or 3 of draws and at least one defeat in our first 6 matches.

Yeah of course, 2 draws and one defeat out of our first six games would have put us 5th last season. I sure we will be gutted if that happens this year.
