old_southy Posted 23 July, 2013 Posted 23 July, 2013 Great addition imo. Would much rather someone with a point to prove and willing to learn than someone likes...Osvaldo.
Olallana Posted 23 July, 2013 Posted 23 July, 2013 Great addition imo. Would much rather someone with a point to prove and willing to learn than someone likes...Osvaldo. You think a player that desperately wants to play the World Cup next year wouldn´t wanna prove a point if he came here?? *facepalm thingy*
Lighthouse Posted 23 July, 2013 Posted 23 July, 2013 Young, quick, scores goals, based in Italy. Certainly ticks all the right boxes for a Saints transfer. I'd be happy to see him here, he looks like a much better option than Mayuka off the bench.
Saint Charlie Posted 23 July, 2013 Posted 23 July, 2013 Not sure he is the no9 type that other targets have been. Wouldn't play up top on his own.
Lighthouse Posted 23 July, 2013 Posted 23 July, 2013 He's good but if true we have reaccessed our transfers and going for a lower standard Not nessy celery. I wouldn't be surprised if we went for 2 attacking players. We've only really got Lambert and JRod, the rest aren't really up to it.
MarkSFC Posted 23 July, 2013 Posted 23 July, 2013 But is he better than Billy Sharp? Yes. And will develop even further. Him plus another 25-28 year old established striker would be brilliant.
Leicestersaint Posted 23 July, 2013 Posted 23 July, 2013 I like the sound of this one and I think it might happen.
pingwing Posted 23 July, 2013 Posted 23 July, 2013 But is he better than Billy Sharp? Quite clearly is better than Billy... (did you not watch any of the champ last season?)
hypochondriac Posted 23 July, 2013 Posted 23 July, 2013 Not nessy celery. I wouldn't be surprised if we went for 2 attacking players. We've only really got Lambert and JRod, the rest aren't really up to it. I doubt we will get two strikers.
Lallana's Left Peg Posted 23 July, 2013 Posted 23 July, 2013 Does not strike me as a player who can play as a lone striker up front, both in terms of style and presence. Interesting player but I can't see where he would naturally fit in.
Andre Posted 23 July, 2013 Posted 23 July, 2013 Big fan of Matej Vydra, after supporting Watford through the Championship last season. Think he could develop into a fantastic player if he came here.
SuperSAINT Posted 26 July, 2013 Posted 26 July, 2013 "Reports in plenty of papers this morning claim West Bromwich Albion are close to signing Udinese striker Matej Vydra on a season-long loan. Vydra impressed during a loan spell at Watford last season."
Colinjb Posted 13 August, 2013 Posted 13 August, 2013 Vydra has signed for West Brom on the season long loan basis. http://www.wba.co.uk/news/article/baggies-seal-vydra-swoop-988625.aspx An Anelka/Vydra partnership for the first game of the season I wonder?
DuncanRG Posted 13 August, 2013 Posted 13 August, 2013 Vydra has signed for West Brom on the season long loan basis. http://www.wba.co.uk/news/article/baggies-seal-vydra-swoop-988625.aspx An Anelka/Vydra partnership for the first game of the season I wonder? Expect Long will still start.
Liam_Baggies Posted 13 August, 2013 Posted 13 August, 2013 Can't see Vydra starting yet given he won't have had any training with the side. I'd expect Anelka and Rosenberg to start up-front. They have both very good in pre-season.
