As I'm sure many have I've been following the ore season pictures. I've been taking a keen interest in Mayuka to see hoe much he is featuring. He seems to be at the forefront of things and also seems a bit of a joker (the pool picture jumps out especially).

Whilst not maybe the most tented (to be fair we haven't seen much) the importance of big characters in the dressing room is always important!

Are there any other players who have seemed to have lacked ability, but have been kept for the positive atmosphere they give?

He was really very, very quiet when he first arrived. It took him a while to settle and become 'one of the lads', but it is safe to say he is enjoying his life now!

Agreed and hopefully that feel good factor will translate to the pitch.

Loved the clip of him charging across the hot coals with the arrow. Has a great chance to come good this season, glad we kept him on.

I was sat in front of him on Wednesday night, he seems to be a very nice young man.

The one observation that surprised me was he asked Jos "what formation are we playing now?".

Not a negative but a young player keen to learn something that has maybe passed him by in his career so far, he certainly is eager to play a greater part with us.

He's done nothing wrong in most of the PL games he has played. Looks to have all the right attributes to make a v good footballer.

Really? Fast and direct, yes. What else have you seen in the very brief glimpses so far?

When he first arrived he was staying at the Hilton in chilworth along with Gaston, had 2 mates working there at the time, both said Mayuka was hilarious and had a real character! Apparently playing tricks on staff etc that he got to know well during his stay.

'A character' the sort of bloke who can't walk past a pair of glasses without trying them on? Someone who will wear matching comedy tie and socks? The sort of person that desribes themselves as 'mad' and 'crazy' and displays constant wackiness, yes?

Sounds a bit like yourself, good sir. Always the life and soul of the party aren't you?

Well, you try to be.

I did too but the encouraging noises from the other players seemed a bit border-line PC to me?
