Baldbarbarian Posted 17 July, 2013 Posted 17 July, 2013 proxys will pop up all over the place, wiziwig is also an alternative
View From The Top Posted 17 July, 2013 Posted 17 July, 2013 Just get Ultrasurf Explain for a novice please.
stu0x Posted 17 July, 2013 Posted 17 July, 2013 It's a proxy client that anonymises your internet traffic, so it bypasses any location based blocks. Very easy to use. Ultrasurf.us
doubleonothing Posted 17 July, 2013 Posted 17 July, 2013 Means that we'll continue to get the traditional "any stream for today?" threads. But those who currently use front row will be on them asking the questions! (Me included now)
bender Posted 17 July, 2013 Posted 17 July, 2013 There will be loads of proxy sites. Pirate bay got taken down but there are loads of Proxys for that.
ericofarabia Posted 17 July, 2013 Posted 17 July, 2013 Al Jism (Al Jazeera) have been given the EPL rights for Middle East for the next 3 years - don't know how this might effect on line streams, but their broadcasts were often the ones used early days of dodgy feeds in local boozers and clubs in Uk. Things have probably been tightened up a bit since then I guess though.
JPTCount Posted 17 July, 2013 Posted 17 July, 2013 the whole system is ****ed, logically i stream first row through a sky connection but its the premier league who has to force a law through to make sky block it... also, legitimate companies sponsor illegal sites through ad revenue. where there's a will there's a way, and its only come about because these games are being broadcast live worldwide by the premier league. until the premier league provide a service where people can legitimately pay to watch every game this will continue to happen. it probably won't have any effect because the firstrow.eu isn't the site the streams are on, it just redirects you somewhere else, currently its firstrowuk.eu for me, and its been under all sorts of variations and locations over the past year. will this block the desktop app too...?
Deano6 Posted 17 July, 2013 Posted 17 July, 2013 Only blocked in the UK it reads. You just need to use a proxy service to make it look like you are in the US, or somewhere else. Just the reverse of what I have to do to watch iPlayer. That or find another site that does the same thing (tho surely that will be blocked in UK too). NBC in the States will be broadcasting every EPL game live next season, so streams will be out there. Now means it will be easier for me to watch English football in US than it would be able to in the UK!
JPTCount Posted 17 July, 2013 Posted 17 July, 2013 Now i don;t know for sure, but surely an ISP block is not a location block. The proxy works because your not going through that site address, which would be on a blacklist with ur isp. As apposed to hulu/iplayer which u have to get a location specific proxy to bounce through, fooling the site into thinking u are in that country. just a guess, but i can't imagine they work the same way
110_Persaint Posted 17 July, 2013 Posted 17 July, 2013 First Row If there's a will there's a way folks...
twopintsnilnil Posted 17 July, 2013 Posted 17 July, 2013 This isn't a location based block. It's more analogous to UK ISPs blocking The Pirate Bay than say, the inability to get iPlayer content in the US. As others have said, it seems likely that there will be alternative links - hopefully to mirrors.
JPTCount Posted 17 July, 2013 Posted 17 July, 2013 First Row If there's a will there's a way folks... seriously, have ppl only just discovered /facepalm
Smirking_Saint Posted 17 July, 2013 Posted 17 July, 2013 Well, it doesnt stop me using piratebay nor will it stop me streaming. There are wats round
latter day saint Posted 17 July, 2013 Posted 17 July, 2013 would be good if we had a sticky with links to all the different sites rather than the usual "anyone got a link" in the run-up to games
saints_is_the_south Posted 17 July, 2013 Posted 17 July, 2013 Al Jazeera Sports have won the rights to show all 380 Premier League games from next season up until 2015/16 season. I currently own a viewing card for all 10 sports channels which I have used to watch Serie A for the last 3 years. You can purchase the card on Ebay here for £139.99 - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ultimate-12-Months-Al-jazeera-sport-card-Channels-1-10-Channels-NEW-/150741155480?pt=UK_Sound_Vision_Viewing_Cards&hash=item2318df7e98. Youl also need a receiver box and a 80cm diameter satellite dish and LNB, and have it aimed at 13.0E for Hot Bird Satellite 6-8. Cost me £165 to set up, plus the cost of an engineer to correctly tune the dish. I purchased my gear from http://www.satellitesuperstore.com. Once installed that's it and after purchasing the Al Jazeera Sport viewing card you can renew it annually via the ebay seller who will do it remotely. I'm not sure how live Premier League football will affect the price of the viewing card, but if it stays at the current price then it's a bargain, every Saints game live for £140 quid, or £11.66 a month. Compare that to what Sky charge per month, and you'll only get 8 or so live Saints games. Al Jaz Sports also show Championship, La Liga, Serie A (virtually every game every weekend, great if you're into your Italian football like me), Ligue 1, Champions & Europa League & Internationals. Perfect if you are exiled from Southampton and can't get to many games, or even if you're not and do home games only. If anybody would like any further information on the above just send me a PM.
saints_is_the_south Posted 17 July, 2013 Posted 17 July, 2013 Hi, is the Al Jazeera feed HD? They currently have 2 HD sports channels, the normal 1 to 10 sports channels are SD. Quality is fine though, proper TV not a stream.
Roo1976 Posted 17 July, 2013 Posted 17 July, 2013 First Row If there's a will there's a way folks... if theres a will theres a death in the family...........
dubai_phil Posted 17 July, 2013 Posted 17 July, 2013 Al Jazeera have NO customer service and finding information and details about their games on their atrocious web site is always a game of chance. They are atcually FAR worse than Abu Dhabi Sports in that regard. How this will affect their Studio team is another issue. For CL & England games they used a studio in London & had Gary Lineker as host with the usual suspects pundits & fit chicks with famous Dads like Ms Dalgleish... Rumours are that they will get Richard Keys & Andy Grey back for the 3 years for the one "Studio" match each weekend. The Smartcards have been US$100 a year down here someone's making good money on EBay (Eric - I have a cunning plan!) Now that they have a monopoly of football down here PLUS they paid a lot for it I expect that will rise. Al Jaz are Qatari, so they HAD to win this deal as part of their whole World Cup credibility (there is NO way that is gonna be played in the summer down here it is BONKERS hot ATM) Oh and if you DO get a card you may find it hard to renew it. Christ I'm in Dubai and spent about 4 hours on hold to their Callcentre when I had their service for the WC. Trying to watch Al Jiz down here with a box geared for our Entertainment provider OSN is a nightmare of Juddervision, and the Cable guys Du & Etisalat often do not have ALL the Sport Channels (They often had ADTV games on the Discovery Channel or Nat Geo Wild which is of course extra money) Ho Hum, I expect they will announce the card fees in the coming week or so, any info will go on @dubaisaints Twitter feed and Dubai Saints FB page as soon as we get it.
saints_is_the_south Posted 17 July, 2013 Posted 17 July, 2013 I've always found it very easy to find the games that are being shown on their website - http://www.en.aljazeerasport.tv/Schedule - Find it a reliable guide. With regards to renewing, as I posted above all I've ever had to do is contact the original seller of my viewing card and request a renewal. I pay, they do it within 24 hours. Never had any problems. Never had to deal with Al Jaz at all. The thing I am interested in the most is the price, and how PL football will affect that. Even if I am paying slightly over the odds for my viewing card on ebay, £11/12 a month for the shed loads of football that they offer is still a bargain IMO, just hope they don't hike it up too much now.

It is a steal when you consider that BT Sport are charging £12 a month if you subscribe through SKY.

NY Saint Posted 18 July, 2013 Posted 18 July, 2013 Here's the lineup of games being broadcast in the US until December. I might be getting very fat, not moving from my sofa and seeing every game of ours this coming season. http://worldsoccertalk.com/premier-league-tv-schedule/
