PRE-SEASON: UE Llagostera vs Southampton

Guess the team we're playing Saturday are stronger, so we'll be saving our 1st team for that. We were never going to have two full strength sides out for both games, but it's a bit surprising they haven't mixed it up a bit and instead gone for such a reserve side.

Llagostera are a Segunda Division side.

Palamos are a Tercera Division side.

So technically Llagostera are better than Palamos.

they all look pleased to be there then.

with that line up.... its like being in the room of the X-Factor with the weak singers, knowing you're not with the ones 'about to get through'.

In this case its known as 'back up to the first team'

Wanyama is sat behind me in the stands. With Jos and Yoshida.

Two teams, one in each half..

25 in theory, 3 out so the 11 that don't start are the second half team in theory, as there are 3 keepers one of the first half team must start the second half...again in theory, that would be Cork or Davis then.

@SouthamptonFC: #SaintsFC substitutes versus @uellagostera: Gazzaniga, Clyne, Schneiderlin, Wanyama, Shaw, Stephens, Lallana, Lambert, Lovren, Isgrove.

Depending on the formation we are 1 down in the attacking midfield/striker role. I'm guessing maybe Jrod or Guly will get the full 90.

SouthamptonFC: 12: Rodriguez has the ball in the net as he bundles in Chambers' low cross, but the offside flag is up so it remains goalless. #saintsfc

SouthamptonFC: 13: Another chance for #SaintsFC as the ball breaks nicely for Puncheon, but his shot is well saved by Llagostera goalkeeper Moragón.

SouthamptonFC: 28: UE Llagostera 0-1 #SaintsFC (Jay Rodriguez 28)

SouthamptonFC: 28: Horrible mix-up between Llagostera defender Pere Segarra and goalkeeper Moragón allows Rodriguez to fire in from close range. #saintsfc

SouthamptonFC: 28: Segarra's pass back to Moragón rolled under the stopper's foot, allowing Rodriguez to outpace him and slam in for 1-0. #saintsfc

SouthamptonFC: 39: This time it's Davis who plays in Rodriguez but, after pushing the ball past the 'keeper, he runs out of space. Goal kick. #saintsfc

SouthamptonFC: 43: Rodriguez and Davis combine again as the latter slips in the former, but he's denied by a good save from Moragón. #saintsfc

SouthamptonFC: HALF TIME: UE LLAGOSTERA 0-1 #SAINTSFC

SouthamptonFC: HALF TIME: Dominant 45 from #SaintsFC, with Rodriguez's 28th-minute goal the difference against hard-working @uellagostera.

SouthamptonFC: HALF TIME: Rodriguez the star performer so far. We'll have confirmation of #SaintsFC's second-half team very shortly.
