Time for the first match thread of the season. I'll try and give you a bit of background on Llagostera too, while we are at it....

Who are UE Llagostera?

Llagostera, or Unio Esportiva Llagostera to give their full name, are a Catalan football club. They were formed in 1947 and have enjoyed a rapid rise, with five promotions since 2005. They currently play in the third tier of the Spanish pyramid, which is then split into four groups. You could probably say that applying it to the English system, it's like splitting League One into regions. They compete in a section with the likes of the Espanyol B/C/D teams.

They currently play in Segunda División B – Group 3. Last season they finished 10th out of 21 teams, racking up 50 points from 40 games. This was a decline on their 5th placed finish the season before, which earned them qualification into the Copa del Rey. This is the highest level they have played at, and they are enjoying their third ever season at this level.

Interesting Fact: Some players are unavailable at times due to also representing the club's hockey team!

Where do they play?

Llagostera's home is the Estadi Municipal based in Llagostera, within Girona. It has been the club's home since February 1948 and has a capacity of 1,400.

Missing fact is that they play on an artificial pitch hence why for my Holibob treat they are playing in Palafrugell (an answered prayer) cos its real grass and MP knows the ground.

So beach tomorrow then get scrubbed up, head to the game then dinner in Llafranc afterwards...... What I call a right touch!

I dont understand Catalan but I think tomorrow might be quite an historic game for them. Hope they enjoy it,but not to much.

Bloody hell €15 to sit in the little stand out of the Sun (still chuffin sun burn hot on the beach at 7:30pm on the beach tonight) that's......that's 4.5 kilos of juicy king prawns for cooking in lashings of Garlic and white wine from Carrefour just round the corner from the ground: blimey going to have to re budget the last of our Holibob money!!

Drive home after 3 weeks down here on Friday and this game is going to be the highlight of this years holiday: I won't be able to sleep tonight!!

I'm driving down with Mrs Saint, leaving in an hour or so.

If we're paying €30 to get in, that's more than the fuel bill......

Anyway, going to make the most of it and enjoy my first ever pre-season away friendly.... Only 45 years of waiting.

Emmanuel Mayuka, Adam Lallana, Jos Hooiveld and Guly have all picked up minor knocks during training this week so will be assessed before tonight's game.

New signings Dejan Lovren and Victor Wanyama have been in full training, so could well get some game-time this evening.

Just parked up outside the ground, chatting to some of the coaching staff. It's 32C at the moment, pitch looks good from what I could see, it's an athletics ground as well so seats are a long way from the pitch.

Try to post updates when I can....

Well here we go another season ahead. Pre-season friendlies are not the best guide to form or intent are they going on previous seasons?

What am I looking for tonight?

1. A clean sheet

2. Lambo, Guly, J-Rod and Lallana all to score

3. No injuries

4. Debuts for Wanyama and Lovren

5. Ever Banega to appear at HT for team photo!!

No Twitter, sorry....

Llagostera players have just arrived. In their cars, wearing their shirts...!!

Hope Saints don't turn up in their shiny new posh coach.. Just about squeeze a couple of minibuses in at a push..

Find NC and ask him about transfers.
