LeBenali Posted 16 July, 2013 Posted 16 July, 2013 £15 for adults would probably be more appropriate, but £18 for a friendly against a team in the Champs League isn't too bad. Kids under 11 for free is a nice touch IMO.
saints_is_the_south Posted 16 July, 2013 Posted 16 July, 2013 When is it going to stop? £18 for a meaningless friendly FFS. Should be no more than a tenner IMO. I'll save my cash for WBA & Norwich away at.

Tom & Gerry Posted 16 July, 2013 Posted 16 July, 2013 ask bournemouth fans sleeping on the streets to pay £60 for the madrid friendly Imagine what we would have to pay if we played them in a proper game. Those of you who think we will be in the Champions league any time soon had better start saving now.

stevegrant Posted 16 July, 2013 Posted 16 July, 2013 £18 isn't completely horrendous, the price is certainly going in the right direction when compared with last summer's shambles. I suspect that as we've only got one home friendly this season, it'll probably be a decent attendance for this one.

But its still at a level where if they halved the price they'd get twice as many people. More important to have a great event than raising a negligible (in the scheme of things) few thousand pounds extra imo.

Don't get me wrong, I completely agree, but as we've seen particularly exposed by our beach-dwelling neighbours, clubs will charge whatever they think they can get away with. Last season they got burned badly with pathetic attendances as a result of arranging far too many home games and then charging £25 for the only two that most people would have been remotely interested in, so at least they've made some sort of attempt at getting more people in the ground for this game.
