Not really given him much of a reason to stay.

Not at all. Very frustrating when you have players of his quality not being given chances. One of the real negatives this season is the lack of chances for the (ours at least) youngsters.

Even SAA dropped out after a promising start.

On current form we should definitely get an extension for Stuart Armstrong - (probably wouldn't want to move his family at this stage).

McCarthy has come to the end of the road, but Lumley is a likely longer term replacement .. (maybe get a trial run out in the Cup v. Walsall ?)

Surely Ché Adams will find a suitor somewhere in January.  He refuses to sign a new contract, but we will want to recoup some of his fee.

IF  he were to stay... he can walk in the summer - for nothing - and still be able pick up a juicy " loyalty bonus " ..( Haha !)     SELL NOW .

@Over land and sea Thierry Rohart-Brown scored for the B team but isn’t on this list; not sure if he’s too young to officially be a scholar? Google suggests we got him in October from Reading as part of the Ballard loan deal.

And seeing as I’m messaging … thanks once again for your work on this - love this thread

You're welcome.

Yes I think he's in line to join as a 1st yeat scholar in the summer, which is why he's not listed on the OS either.  Last year I added a list of those pre-scholars that had played for the U18s (or U21s) - I will do that when I get a moment.  That list will form the bulk of next year's first year scholars

  • Brandon Charles is omitted from the U21 list although he has signed a pro deal.
  • Nick Oyakunle's new contract came too late for him to make it to the U21 list (although Jeffries is included)
  • The under 21 list includes contracted players only - a further 19 scholars that have not yet signed pro deals are omitted (as well as Oyakunle/Brandon Charles).
  • Interesting to see Aldi Mohamed listed - it seems he has signed a pro deal.  He signed an extension to his scholarship last summer.

I am also grateful for your updates on players.

As to underage players, I think we've seen Harrison Miles and Jay Robinson  turn out for the U21s on a few occasions this season

and I think they are both still around 15 / 16 ...or ?

Has kwp got a 30m buy back clause as surely he's worth way more than that now? On southampton newsnow today. Never heard it mentioned today

that wouldn't surprise me.    Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has a hand in every deal they do and he rarely misses a trick.   A buy back deal is quite likely.

Historically we've always got the sh*tty end of the stick when dealing with Spurs, but KWP was a rare exception, but he's easily worth 30 million in today's market.

Does anyone know what he is doing at present?  He does not seem to play many games.  He went out on loan a couple of times and I remember that he did well at Carlisle and seemed to have been well regarded by the manager and fans.  But I have not heard much of him this season.  He has the physicality needed for a reasonable cb and his background suggests that he should be skilful enough to play competently for a Championship side now or in future.  He’s gone off my radar so I do not know how he is getting on now.  If he does go, I wish him a good and long career at a progressive club.

Rehab. Has been injured for a long time.

I suspect KWP will see out his contract and look for a bumper pay day out of one.

Whatever he decides to do, I'll forever be grateful.

Will be sad to see him go but I can certainly see the attraction.  He’s always given 100% for the team played where ever he’s been asked and really put in a shift this season showing how far above championship level he is.  Good luck to him and hope he bags himself a bumper deal at a decent club who give him the game time his talent deserves.

I hope that the bonus of getting a European spot, and the prospect of playing in it, gets KWP to extend his contract. 🙂

Probably the only way we'd keep him. I know the game is about money these days and the club might be tempted to sell him before his value disappears but he's one I'd absolutely keep for the season and happily lose on a free next year (if we can't get him to sign a new contract). He's rarely been anything but excellent since the day we signed him and I still can't believe he stuck around in the Championship with us for a year without any complaining. We have been very lucky to have a position filled for so long without having to worry about it. KWP and Bree means RB is not a priority this summer. (Awaits dodgy transfer business from Saints and bringing in 3 new RBs and no strikers...)

End of Stu's time here.

But also, finally, after what feels like a lifetime - we've released Jake Vokins. Not sure where he'll go from here, maybe non-league at a guess.

Simeu off as well - clearly a signing to help Tino settle in at the time, offered nothing long-term for us.

Confirmed we're in talks to extend both Che and McCarthy.

It's a thank you and goodbye to both from my perspective, based on both what they'd want and a real need for us to progress.

I'd keep Che as long as we still go out and sign a new striker. I do not want to start the season with Stewart, Che and Mara as our strikers (and AA but he can also play wide). We saw where that got us last season. A new decent striker (whoever that may be), Che and Stewart (with AA if needed and Mara going) would be fine with me.

McCarthy no thanks, good contribution at the end but we can do better. Unless the plan is to let Lumley go and reduce his wages heavily. Then he'd be second choice while Baz is out and third choice overall.

Simeu was a strange one but it seems injuries got in the way of development. I think it was the Carlisle fans that rated him. Maybe that's his level.

Club already blinked on Lumley and gave him an extension in March for some reason.

Good point, although maybe preparing for another season in the Championship...

Simeu had a bad injury picked up last summer so he's been rehabilitating to get back to full fitness. I'm sure he will find a side in league one or two. Wish him well along with the other three who have been released.

Wouldn’t surprise me to see Dynel follow an Alfie Jones type path. League one & up to Championship
