I hate to burst everyones bubble, all it means is that should one of the big boys come knocking they pay over the odds for one of our most promising talents, the club need to make sure they match his ambition to keep him here

I´m gonna protect BBC a bit for the picture.

I´ve seen that picture in a few Luke Shaw articles so I suspect someone on a picture agency has tagged the picture with the wrong name and then it pops up in different articles....(embarrassing though)

Of course, that´s how the game works these days.

But this also protect the club to get a significant fee if the day comes when he wants to leave.

Another deal called by Alex Crook: (oh...)

Not expecting any announcement on Luke Shaw signing his new #saintsfc deal today. Probably wont be made public until after pre-season tour

The blokes an utter pr1ck.

Umm. I don't think you are telling us anything we don't know.

I think the majority aren't naive enough not to think that.

Correct. When writing an article you typically type a name in the search and select from what is provided.

Getty Images do have one of JWP tagged as 'Luke Shaw'. I've found that error myself when writing and using their images.

Instead of the £10 mill that was thrown around for him we can now ask for £20+ :-)

After losing Theo,Bale and Oxo at such a young age it is without a doubt refreshing to see that we are no longer a selling club and that we are now in a position to hold on to our best players, the transformation that the club has gone under is unbelievable

Bit of poor show really though.... i would have thought a english football journalist would know what a huge english prospect looks like..... maybe im just to obsessive with football and know i would recognise something like that

I don't know how the BBC operates but it may be that the sports desk don't have their own picture editors, so whoever chose and framed that picture might be working on news most of the time and not have a clue about football. The reporter who wrote the story won't have chosen the picture, anyway.
