Kelvin Davis, Artur Boruc, Paulo Gazzaniga

Calum Chambers, Danny Fox, Luke Shaw, Nathaniel Clyne

Dejan Lovren, Jack Stephens, Jordan Turnbull, Jos Hooiveld, José Fonte, (Yoshi)

Jack Cork, Morgan Schneiderlin, Steven Davis, James Ward-Prowse (Wanyama)

Adam Lallana, Guly, Jason Puncheon, Jay Rodriguez, Lloyd Isgrove (Gaston)

Rickie Lambert, Emmanuel Mayuka

Yoshi, Wanyama and Gaston to meet up with them next week or something. Still atleast a striker and a winger/attacking mid short IMO. And some decent alternatives to Shaw and Clyne.

No surprises there so why is it particularly interesting?

Particularly is your word not mine. I was interested in the list on the Club's website and that is still my opinion, but feel free to disagree and indeed add snide remarks if that makes you feel better

Certainly not meant as a snide remark, but who do you reckon could have travelled/who was surprising that did travel over. Would have thought Matt Targett may have traveled, suggests he's still got a bit to develop.

Just what I was thinking. Amongst the young players don't we have one right back and two centre backs? It might suggest that a left back is close to signing? Which seems a fairly interesting thing to me.

This reinforces my view that we are weak in GK and CB options.

and then of course, there is Fox !

That squad is not going to finish top 8

Good chance you are wrong.

Who knows but personally think that squad should be able to get top 8 finish.

1) for last 30 odd games of the season, over 75% of season we were 8th.

2) key weakness was CB - added quality signing

3) most squad still at improving age

4) manager had time with squad for fitness and way of playing

5) we struggled against physical sides - added monster!

6) think Shaw, Clyne and Ramirez will all significantly improve and be excellent for us.

7) and we always do a lot better than you predict ;)

Your point being? That wont be our squad next season. 2 or 3 more decent signings and it will be in with a very good chance. We wont have to be world class to finish above Everton, Swansea or West Brom next season.

That squad list highlights what we already know - we're strong in midfield, look decent at CB and GK, need to add depth at RB and LB and need another out-and-out striker.

There is enough in the team to push for top-10, but relies on the starting lineup playing every game. Just one injury or bad patch in a weaker position and we're in trouble.

GK - Boruc is good as a first choice keeper, Kelvin maybe a bit wobbly as 2nd but I imagine Gazza will get on the bench more this season as Kelvin is moving towards a coaching role.

RB - Clyne is an excellent option to have, although I am slightly worried about not having a "natural" RB to come in to replace him if he gets injured. Cork and Chambers both converted mids.

LB - Pretty much the same as our right-back situation, but don't have confidence in Fox or Targett to step up if Shaw was out of the team for a while.

CB - Think we're pretty strong at CB, Maya and Dejan as first choice looks solid with Fonte and Hooiveld to come in. Turnbull and Stephens in the mix too, but not ready yet for Prem.

CM - Our strongest area of the team now, both in defensive and attacking positions. Morgan, Cork, Wanyama, Davis, Prowsey and Ramirez are a very strong group to have.

AM - Probably need to look at getting a pacy winger in unless we decide to try Mayuka wide more this season (which is what I would do). Still pretty strong though.

ST - Again we probably need to bring in another quality player for this position, preferably somebody youngish but with a proven record. Not easy to come by though.
