ThreeSixty Posted 30 September, 2013 Posted 30 September, 2013 Few in Itchen were trying get one going to The Lion Sleeps Tonight on Sat. It was pretty amusing.
shurlock Posted 1 October, 2013 Posted 1 October, 2013 Block 42/The Northam struggles more than anything these days unless its really, really simple. Had some near me on Saturday singling "Oooohhh Dani Osvaldo" to the Ramirez song. Lambert's song hasn't been sung properly for years. Few in Itchen were trying get one going to The Lion Sleeps Tonight on Sat. It was pretty amusing. Yep - the IoW boys. Amusing for the novelty value; not sure its the basis for a chant, though.
ashleyb5443 Posted 1 October, 2013 Posted 1 October, 2013 You'll definitely be on your own if you start it on saturday I'll do my best to get it going from lower down block 42, and away to United as well. ****, it's a sun. No drinking then....

Ulrich van Gobbel Posted 6 October, 2013 Posted 6 October, 2013 Heard the Celtic Wanyama song get an outing in the Northam today from where I stand in Block 39. It has been stuck in my head ever since!
Golden Balls Posted 7 October, 2013 Posted 7 October, 2013 Heard the Celtic Wanyama song get an outing in the Northam today from where I stand in Block 39. It has been stuck in my head ever since! Yeah. Block 42 are still struggling with speed and words but 40/41 seem to get it.
Saint Garrett Posted 21 October, 2013 Posted 21 October, 2013 Tried to get this going quite a few times on Saturday - few people joined in but not a massive take up! Also tried the Osvaldo chant a few times and that one fell on deaf ears! Probably didn't help that he wasn't playing particularly well.
krissyboy31 Posted 21 October, 2013 Posted 21 October, 2013 Would actually prefer the old Rueben Agboola "Jacky Wilson" chant tbh!

Saint Garrett Posted 25 October, 2013 Posted 25 October, 2013 What tune is the Wanyama song to? Not sure what it's called but this...
Batman Posted 25 October, 2013 Posted 25 October, 2013 he must think the atmosphere is horrific at saints after playing at celtic
suewhistle Posted 25 October, 2013 Posted 25 October, 2013 Not sure what it's called but this... It's the processional march tune from Aida, but sung at a faster pace: here 20 seconds in.
Crouchie Crouchie Posted 25 October, 2013 Posted 25 October, 2013 he must think the atmosphere is horrific at saints after playing at celtic I'm sure if saints were 2-0 up against Barca in the champions league the atmosphere would have been buzzing too
Golden Balls Posted 25 October, 2013 Posted 25 October, 2013 he must think the atmosphere is horrific at saints after playing at celtic I can confirm that the atmosphere isn't even a 1000th of this when they play against normal SPL teams. So no, he probably doesn't.
Batman Posted 25 October, 2013 Posted 25 October, 2013 I can confirm that the atmosphere isn't even a 1000th of this when they play against normal SPL teams. So no, he probably doesn't. but ours will never get like that when we play big teams.
niceandfriendly Posted 26 October, 2013 Posted 26 October, 2013 he must think the atmosphere is horrific at saints after playing at celtic Don't know why you're so worried about it mate. Celtic have more fans and are more vocal than us at games (on big CL nights at least). It's clearly not bothering Wanyama, so what's the big issue?
John Cool Posted 30 October, 2013 Posted 30 October, 2013 I think the Muppets one suggested early in the thread would be the most fun, and is easy to sing... WANYAMANA! Do Doo De Do-Do WANYAMANA! Do Do De Do WANYAMANA! Do Doo De Do-Do De Do-Do, De Do-Do, De Do-Do-Do-Do VICTOR WANYAMA!

Stu Man Do Posted 30 October, 2013 Posted 30 October, 2013 Might help if the Northam singers of this paced it like the Celtic fans did rather than their usual 100000000000mph version of every song.
ericb Posted 30 October, 2013 Posted 30 October, 2013 Might help if the Northam singers of this paced it like the Celtic fans did rather than their usual 100000000000mph version of every song. It's almost impossible to keep up at the pace they sing it at in block 42 and i'm in that block.
Golden Balls Posted 2 November, 2013 Posted 2 November, 2013 Might help if the Northam singers of this paced it like the Celtic fans did rather than their usual 100000000000mph version of every song. Block 40 do their best to keep it at normal pace (and the right words) but block 42 just hijack it with 100mph clapping and the wrong words. I'm in block 41. Really annoying.
