VectisSaint Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 Does the League Cup allow 7 subs? Team on the OS suggests it does.
Saint_clark Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 From this season it does, mentioned it on Radio Hampshire.
VectisSaint Posted 12 August, 2008 Author Posted 12 August, 2008 ok, I guess thats because the Prem teams are allowed 7 this year. Seems a little unfair on the smaller teams. The way things are going clubs will have to have bigger squads just to have half of their players sitting on the bench.
Saint Martini Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 On an other note? Where's the match thread?
VectisSaint Posted 12 August, 2008 Author Posted 12 August, 2008 On an other note? Where's the match thread? I know, can we make this a sticky?
Saint Matty 76 Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 No he's not playing CB, it's Perry and Wotton...
66East Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 Saints: Bialkowski, Perry, Wotton, Surman, Holmes, Schneiderlin, Gillett, Lallana, James, Thomson, McGoldrick. Subs : Forecast, John, Dyer, Hatch, Lancashire, Mills, White Exeter City: Jones, Tully, Friend, Gill, Seaborne, Taylor, Harley, Stansfield, McAllister, Edwards, Stewart. Subs: Marriot, Panther, Basham, Cozic, Logan, Moxey, Sercombe Referee: F Graham Saints made two changes from the side that faced Cardiff, with Michael Svennson being replaced by Paul Wotton and Kelvin Davis making way for Bartosz Bialkowski. Former Saint Steve Basham was on the bench for the Grecians, who lined up in a 4-3-3 formation with Marcas Stewart, Craig McAllister and Adam Stansfield up front.
Saint_clark Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 Perry passes the ball behind Bart and he has to boot it into touch. Nice.

MulletMan Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 Bart looking very nervous. Could have costed us a goal already.
Andy_Porter Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 ok, I guess thats because the Prem teams are allowed 7 this year. Seems a little unfair on the smaller teams. The way things are going clubs will have to have bigger squads just to have half of their players sitting on the bench. You don't have to fill all seven sub spots. I think it's a good idea anyway, nice for Mills and White to get some first team experience, hopefully one of them will get a chance in the second half.
Saint_clark Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 You can hear a bloke on his phone in the background. Quite an amateur outfit really, aren't they....
Saint Martini Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 link please http://www.bbc.co.uk/hampshire/local_radio/index.shtml I can listen to it aswell even though I live abroad.

Saint Martini Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 Bart looking very nervous. Could have costed us a goal already. Looking? Are you watching the match?
SNSUN Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 Come on Saints, I expect nothing less than 15 goals tonight.
benjii Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 No he's not playing CB, it's Perry and Wotton... Wotton's playing in midfield.
benjii Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 Spiderman now playing CB, with Wotton in MF Always was. See previous. Kind regards, benjii

I think it's a good idea anyway, nice for Mills and White to get some first team experience, hopefully one of them will get a chance in the second half. Maybe not, but not many teams will not have 7 on the bench. In general its a crap idea, there will now be 4 players in every team not taking any part in a game, instead of the current 2. It means the gap between the top teams and the bottom teams will simply grow wider still...
mprobert Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 Spiderman now playing CB, with Wotton in MF Jan played him there for a couple of pre season games - wants to build from the back
BARCELONASAINT Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 Can't listen to it on Hampshire, it says stopped when i click on listen live!!
MulletMan Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 Looking? Are you watching the match? Nope, need to practice my english.
Saint Charlie Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 http://www.bbc.co.uk/hampshire/local_radio/index.shtml I can listen to it aswell even though I live abroad. Its not playing the football though?
alpine_saint Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 Spiderman now playing CB, with Wotton in MF Great. One competitive match, and Poortvillet has caught Burleyitis from a festering jockstrap once belonging to Jermaine Wright that had been left in the changing room.
Micky Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 http://www.bbc.co.uk/hampshire/local_radio/index.shtml I can listen to it aswell even though I live abroad. Errr thanks but I got Billy Joel on that link....!!!!
benjii Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 Jan played him there for a couple of pre season games - wants to build from the back I'd prefer us to defend at the back TBH.
hypochondriac Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 Great. One competitive match, and Poortvillet has caught Burleyitis from a festering jockstrap once belonging to Jermaine Wright that had been left in the changing room. Have you seen them in training?
saint lard Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 Can't listen to it on Hampshire, it says stopped when i click on listen live!! States that due to contractual reasons they can't broadcast the match, only post match reaction.
revolution saint Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 Its not playing the football though? You glory hunters will just have to move into radio reception if you really support saints.
NickG Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 please don't quote that nonsense he is on my ignore list!
Micky Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 You glory hunters will just have to move into radio reception if you really support saints. Or shell out 30 quid for saints tv / radio whatsimicallitthingamyjig....!!!!

alpine_saint Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 please don't quote that nonsense he is on my ignore list! So, now he's telling others what to quote as well as what to say....
Saint Charlie Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 Lets just ignore the baiting and follow the game. Alpine, please just be constructive!
Saint Martini Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 You glory hunters will just have to move into radio reception if you really support saints. I don't think that is a very good description of any Saints fan.
alpine_saint Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 Lets just ignore the baiting and follow the game. Alpine, please just be constructive! Seeing as I cannot get a live feed in Austria, I can only react to comments being made on here, and I am not impressed with Schneiderlin playing CB whilst there are real CBs left out or warming the bench. This smacks of Burleyism to me. As for NickG's baiting, its the classic case of making digs then putting the person on ignore so as not to see the reaction. I regard myself as a bit more mature than that..
Bourno Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 Are there more posts per page on the new forum, I would have expected to see page 2 by now.
Saint_clark Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 Llalana has his shooing boots on. You obviously don't have your typing glasses on though
