Where does this leave JWP

Amongst all the excitement of who we are linked with, VW, etc. where does this leave JWP. He showed last season that he could be a great player for Saints but when will he get a game now?

I can't help but feel the "big names" could unsettle the squad and also block terrific young talents like JWP from progressing.

Catch 22 - club is ambitious - ambition will persuade the likes of SHaw to hang around but what about Chambers, Isgrove and JWP (amongst others)?

It leaves him as a talented 18 year old learning his trade with a great future in the game but who, like every other player, will need to prove himself good enough for the premier league. If he is good enough he'll play, if he isn't he won't. Its not difficult.

So if he proves to be as good as on a par with the likes of Schneiderlin and Wanyama he'll get in the side ahead of them and one of those two will drop to the bench?

It's not that we want him banned. We would just appreciate it if he stops acting like an arrogant, uppity know-it-all pr*ck who's right about everything and no one should dare question or refute what he says, or he'll lay into that person from his high horse and make it seem like he owns these forums when really he's just like everybody else.

Turks doesn't own the forum. He just owns a significant proportion of the posters.

It's my understanding that the 2 (VW & JWP) are quite different players.

VW playing in a much deeper role, ala Cork/Morgan, whereas JWP is a more advanced player - making up one of 'the 3', as it were.

I personally wouldn't see the signing of Victor as a hindrance to JWP's development. I hope to see a bit more of him this season, I think he has the potential to work well in MP's system - where from what I can tell we play quite narrow - with 'the 3' playing just off the striker, and moving outwards into the channels, along with whoever leads the line (as opposed to wide players/wingers cutting inside from wide), I think the extra burden then falls onto the full-backs to bomb forward - hence the effectiveness of Shaw & Clyne in this system - who both have pace, decent technical ability on the ball and stamina, the DM's (or one at least) will then sit deep as the centre backs split, covering for the full backs. Well, in my not particularly tactically astute opinion.

I think banning him would be more likely to have the desired effect. Sadly neither will happen.

So Danny Fox is good enough for the Prem because he's played in it? Fair enough. Same for Ali Dia?

JWP has "a great future in the game" yet if he isn't good enough he wont play - but he has "a great future in the game"?

Im finding this difficult.

I have a habit of preferring to skim these forums quickly so as not to get bogged down in petty arguments with any posters. Just read what's new and get out.

Unfortunately when I see incredible stupidity from some posters I can't help but intervene to let them know how dumb they are sounding. Hence 90% of my posts are responses to such posts that deserve a facepalm since I'm lost for words.

This was a somewhat decent question so nowt will be posted.

And you end all of your posts with the facepalm; the emoticon to suggest you consider whatever you're responding to as depressingly stupid. I'm not sure I see much of a difference in your respective attitudes.

Some might say that was the action of someone who was "arrogant, uppity" and a "know-it-all" commenting from "his high horse".

That was in response to Alpine's silly comment. Your lack of realisation of that means you my friend deserve one too.

Know the difference between objective stupidity and subjective differences of opinion no matter how twisted/unorthodox they may be.

Thanks man, I'll definitely learn from that. Being available and competent to point out to strangers that they're stupid, no matter how trifling the issue, will make me a better person. I'll stop commenting on here until I've got something more scathing to say.
