goso Posted 6 July, 2013 Posted 6 July, 2013 Matt Targett First year scholar forced his way into the U21 squad just a few months into the season. Never once looked out of place at that level. Said to have been monitored by several leading Premier League clubs. Returned to the U18 setup briefly in January, lining up at centre-back, where he looked just as capable. Targett is strong in the tackle and comfortable on the ball. Will almost certainly be offered a professional deal within the next 12 months (Extract from 2012/13 Youth Review)

The Cat Posted 6 July, 2013 Posted 6 July, 2013 Targett has looked excellent the few times I've seen him. Some players just look a cut above at youth level and he's one. Confident on the ball and very sound defensively. Always seemed to be in control of what he was doing both on and off the ball. I'm sure there are people on here who have seen him a lot more than me and can comment further.
