Wiggles31 Posted 6 July, 2013 Share Posted 6 July, 2013 Absolute bare minimum IMO. Would still be considered a bit of a disappointment even if we do finish eighth and go nowhere in either cup. Must overtake one of (or all three) of Everton, Liverpool and/or Spurs to really prove we are progressing and going places. Mind you if all the recent transfer rumours turn out to be rubbish and we make no new signings I'd bite your hand off for 17th. 100_Perskate. Wes Tender Posted 6 July, 2013 Share Posted 6 July, 2013 And the other side of this coin equally is that we can do it we can do it Cortese said it and he's never wrong we can do it we beat City last season and everything we can do it we can do it we are signing some new players we can do it and pathetic old midtable? Pah. How old are you? I'd guess about 7 based on the above. If not your actual age, then at least your mental age.
Wes Tender Posted 6 July, 2013 Share Posted 6 July, 2013 Yawn. Of course it is possible. And also pathetically easy to imagine with pretty much zero creative thought whatsoever. But congratulations on your breathtaking leap of imagination that the team you support could finish in sixth place in a league table. Quite astonishing. Right folks, Fry's on board and accepts the possibility that we could end up 4th - 6th. What's the situation between West Ham and United this season, CB ? ghq Posted 6 July, 2013 Share Posted 6 July, 2013 I thought the wins we had last season against City, Chelsea and Liverpool were good, but I thought on each occasion we had got them, the respective teams, at the right time. The results that followed indicated there was some truth in my surmise. I was over the moon that we were still in the Prem. at the end of the season, but concerned not so much at the tapering off of results, but at the final league position relative to where we ciould have finished. This, I feel is impacting on our ability to attract the players we're chasing. I know if I were after a move that I'd be looking more favourably at a top ten club rather than one in our position. So I think we have to improve a fair bit next season to continue toward the ultimate goal. That is assuming fourth place isn't going to remain out of our reach for ever. So a minimum of 10th will do it for me.

What's the situation between West Ham and United this season, CB ? I don't think ever Manchester United or West Ham United will be relegated. The chances of either being relegated therefore equal 0%
SaintBobby Posted 6 July, 2013 Share Posted 6 July, 2013 My own expectations for the season are for a top half finish and never to really get involved in the relegation fight at any time of the season. If we go on a really decent cup run, I'd settle for 10th. And I wouldn't be mortified if we end up 12th-ish. I don't think top 7 is realistiic unless another £40m+ of talent arrives (which does seem just about possible tbh)
