Linvoy's Afro Posted 6 December, 2008 Share Posted 6 December, 2008 Yep, David James is definitely rubbish. That's why with him in the team we've finished high in the Premiership and, you know, won silverware. And done more than count losing to Steau Bucharest as an 'European Tour'. Pity us! We could've paid the same amount of money and signed Kelvin Davis.

Point 2 They are just as good as each other so you would have saved a fortune in wages and in your financial position that would be good for you I think

In fact he would be the main reason you got to the cup final with his penalty save and some other other great performances. It is interesting since HR has left he has not been so secure, perhaps he is making it easier for Pompey to say goodbye whe he joins Spurs May i add about the European thing, the format is different than when we played and like Everton we had a very tough team to play weras you were fortunate going through against a no hoper. Colinjb Posted 6 December, 2008 Share Posted 6 December, 2008 It was Portsmouth versus Gosport (Turk Town) apparently. HAHAHA What a pathetic bunch of inbreds they really are. "Oh no, we are out of Europe despite turning in an unforgetable performance against AC Milan and puting up a really rather good fight against one of the best teams in Germany and still enjoying one of the best periods in our clubs history, what are we to do?" Corporate Ho Posted 11 December, 2008 Share Posted 11 December, 2008 but it wasntr a great performance against Milan. You were lucky not to be at least 1 goal at half time and yes you took advantage of the weakened Milan team and scored 2 only to let them draw when they put on a couple more players to change the game. Your fans were the only good performance on the night and if you still have to play at home again it will be interesting how many turn up. Dear, oh dear Mavis. You do seem very selective in your views. Yes, Milan missed some chances but you have completely ignored the fact that Crouch also missed three very good opportunities in the first half as well. Not only that but given that you noticed that Milan fielded a "weakened" team it's funny that you didn't notice that Pompey were also without four of our best players in Diarra, Defoe, Kranjcar and Campbell. Still, that would negate your pathetic argument, wouldn't it? David James has been in fantastic form for you since joining. If Spurs want to pay us £3m + for James we'll happily take it. 2. The format is different now. However, we would still have gone out in the first round if we hadn't got through a home and away tie just like you played, so not that different after all, eh? As for them being no - hopers, they finished high enough in a decent Portuguese league last year to qualify for the Champions League qualifying round and were only denied a spot in the group stages by an incorrectly disallowed goal. So not exactly the "no-hopers" you're trying to paint them as.
Corporate Ho Posted 11 December, 2008 Share Posted 11 December, 2008 Oh dear, looks like Nick Nack's "disappeared" again. Seems the going got too tough for him/ his statement proved unfounded (is that one of the most pompous phrases he's ever used or what?) Or maybe Roger Moore's shut him in a suitcase again
