orchardsaint Posted 30 June, 2013 Share Posted 30 June, 2013 after starting the all time saint thread yesterday, it seems channon, mlt and lambo are the top three. (of those that replied). great to read so many names coming back, some forgotten, but obviously held dear. however, my son has now asked me to name my all time team. difficult for me, i only started following the saints in the early eighties, (not my fault, it's when i was old enough) so i am only putting in players i have seen play. i could make a different team up from ones before my time. so many could go in, knowing what they did, but that would be from videos, not my memories. here goes 4-4-2 ( the numbers will mean something to fans from before the prem/money/tv era) 1 Niemi 2 Dodd 3 Dennis 4 Case © 5 Svensson M 6 Wright 7 Keegan 8 Armstrong 9 Lambert 10 Moran 11 Wallace Dan Subs (only 5 allowed) Shilton Beattie Pahars Richards Cockerill

EBS1980 Posted 30 June, 2013 Share Posted 30 June, 2013 Kenna and Clyne both better than Dodd IMO at right back.

orchardsaint Posted 30 June, 2013 Author Share Posted 30 June, 2013 Don't worry. I know I'm stupid. Can't see the woods for the trees. Was trying too hard and missed the obvious. Sorry KK but you are dropped. And NC will now never ask my opinion on anything in future.

aintforever Posted 30 June, 2013 Share Posted 30 June, 2013 Here's my dream team, I'm a bit too young to have watched Paine, Channon, Ball, Keegan and co but this team would still kick some serious ass. ----------------------- Shilton ----------------------- Dodd -------- Wright -------- Ruddock -------- Bale ------------ Case ------------ Schneiderlin ---------- D Wallace ----------- Le Tissier ------------ Walcott ----------------------- Shearer ----------------------- Subs: Neimi Pahars Oxlade Chamberlain Bridge Beattie

FreemantleSaint Posted 30 June, 2013 Share Posted 30 June, 2013 I started watching Saints in September 1986 so here's mine, using our current formation: Niemi Dodd Richards M Svensson Bridge Case Schneiderlin Rod Wallace Le Tissier Bale Lambert Subs: Flowers Monkou Marsden Berkovic Beattie Only Bale's inclusion is partly based on achievements at other clubs. Clyne and Shaw could well play themselves into my dream team if they can continue their first season form.
