I wouldn't rule this one out yet. Far from it. That No 11 shirt is there waiting... Victor have the current odds as:

http://www.betvictor.com/sports/en/coupons/transfer-specials

Transfer Specials - Leandro Damiao to sign for before 1st September 2013 - Outright

Zenit 1/1

Southampton 2/1

Napoli 8/1

Tottenham 12/1

66/1 bar

As a non-gambler I am no expert on betting but do the odds not reflect the value of the bets placed rather than the bookmaker's assessment of probability. If so, all a short odds shows is that enough people have believed the rumours to make bets, it doesn't make the rumours true.

Him or Pablo and I will start to really look forward to August 17th

Only really look forward to our team starting if we add £20m international forward?

No wonder a lot of moaning on here!

I'm looking forward to seeing a stronger Saints side with Wanyama and Lovren boosting last year's starting 11. If the club hadn't strengthened at all, I would be looking forward to the new season with less confidence. If they do bring in the extra striker or wide player they seem to be after, even if its closer to the deadline, I'll be looking forward to the season even more because the team will be even better so I'm with GS and really looking forward to seeing an improved team in Saints' colours. Maybe NickG thinks the team should never be improved and that SFC shouldn't recruit £20m internationals even if it does have the resources but then, everyone's entitled to their opinion, even foolish ones.....

A little of column a) a lot of column b). So mostly you are correct though they do sometimes reflect the actual state of play/insider knowledge.

Maybe we have already had a bid excepted and agreed terms. It could be we are simply waiting for the international clearance and a work permit before disclosing the deal? That would make perfect sense to me. No point in announcing the player has signed and then have to go through the work permit shat.

A few years ago on FM there was a forward called Leandro who usually signed for Madrid. Is this the same guy?

Not the same one as fm isn't real. Damiao is hopefully a real person

Has anyone on here actually touched him? That would prove it for me

We could say the same of you...are you real or just a figment of The Internet?? In fact are any of us real...discuss.:)

Think you need to read post more carefully before commenting. I didn't mention the transfer policy just the greedy need for a £20m signing before being able to look forward to seeing Saints.

Of course its great to keep improving. Guess like some others I quickly get excited about the prospect of signing players I have never seen play.

And of course it is exciting to see new players play.

I have never said we should not improve, or sign a £20m player.

If you think it is foolish that I still get excited for the start of the season, with or without £20m signings you are entitled to that view.

As I am entitled to any views on those who are not excited about a new season without a £20m signing, even though only 2nd back in prem and seeing talented developing young players.

I'm definitely a computer-bot, here only to study your human emotions. I decided on Southampton FC because the fanbase displays such a rich variety of them.

Also, it is a perfect spot to disseminate spam from my creators.

Something is happening at the stadium. My mate is on a tour and asked to have a look at Nicola's office but was told he wasn't allowed.

Something is happening at the stadium! My pal just asked to have a look at NC personal financial accounts and was told "no".

doesnt mean anything guys - probably just club policy

Something is happening at the stadium. My mate asked to borrow a spoon from Nicola's personal stash to eat his Muller crunch corner with. He's just been found washed up in the Solent. :shakey:

Something is happening at the stadium. My mate got caught short and asked to use Puncheon's personal throne. He was told no and excluded from the rest of the tour. Definite announcement on the horizon.

I'm hearing Saints now talking to Damiao.

Thank you Draino, that could be interesting information. Sorry to be a bore, but i guess somebody has to ask, who or what is your source and how credible are they?

Best answer: I am Damiao's agent, i just met Nicola for a cappucino and we are just thrashing out the final details and thought i should let Saintsweb forum know first.

Worst answer: I had a dream.

I understand that what is happening at the stadium is that a covert operation is ongoing, to install bracketry to reposition the goal line technology laser a couple of inches further onto the pitch / further into the goal to the goal posts at each end, so they can be operated remotely to suit the goal Saints are attacking.

Watch us fly up the league.

That's no good, we hardly ever try a shot on goal.

Is this Leandro fellow any good and should I get excited?

Hope it's the former, the latter can get rather messy.

I've heard we've had a bid accepted but that in a bit of a twist, we're actually refusing to talk to him. This one could drag on a bit yet

Why on earth would we refuse to talk to him ?! =/

I am hearing from a source that we may or may not sign another player. I am not ITK but then I again I think I am just as much ITK as everyone else who uses this site.

Just been down the nags head and Trigger reckons Micky Pearce has heard from Denzil who's just come back from Spain in his lorry that Damiao is gunna sign within 24hrs. Cushty!

It would be a nightmare for the ITKers trade union (chaired by Glasgow Saint) if one of their members were assassinated on a balcony.
