Leandro Damiao!

Damiao is white

Don't know if Hulk's issues at Zenit stem entirely from the racist subset of their fanbase, rumours are that the likes of Denisov, Kerzhakov etc are upset that he earns more money than them.

Here's an interview where he talks a bit about racism and issues with teammates.

How do you know that Sharp and Hooper wouldn't score at the top level? Plenty have come from the lower leagues and done really well. A natural goalscorer is a natural goalscorer. Remember John Aldridge?

Remember Rickie Lambert?

Sharp failed to hold down a first team place at forest last year and- excluding penalties - averaged a goal every 5 games

becuase Billy Sharp is average at best. If you think he could seriously do a job for us - you are deluded. I don't get what all the fuss about him was, scored a poachers goal and a 1 yard tap-in against pompey and everyone thinks he's the bee's knees

Ohhhh, we shouldn't start "excluding penalties", there's only one way that'll go, and it involves the phrase "top Premier League English scorer"...

Whether or not Sharp could do a job for us was not really the point I was making.

I hadnt read too much about the issue TBH, just heard snippets on SSN about his troubles with racism etc

It appears the whole move was a disaster in every way except his bank balance !

Don't you just hate it when you look occasionally on a thread about a possible new target and discover that no one knows anything so they're talking about Billy Sharp?

Yep, almost as good as when you take a look and it's just people talking about people talking about Billy Sharp!

Internacional director Marcelo Medeiros has warned the interested parties that Damiao will not come cheap.

‘The price is £22million,’ said Medeiros to Globo.

‘If one of the clubs wants to buy Damiao, this is the price they will have to pay.’

Almost as mental as saying Frank Lampard is "Chelsea's highest all time goalscorer" as he is the penalty taker.

That's a point, are Napoli still after Jackson Martinez?

£22m is a staggering amount of money. Cortese will only pay it if he thinks it's fair, though.

They have an agreement with Martinez, but want to try and convince Porto to accept less than the 40m buyout that is in his contract.

Scored last night.

Internacional emerged as winners in Thursday's only Brasileirão clash as they came away from the Morumbi with a 1-0 victory.

Leandro Damião scored the only goal of the game in the 14th minute as he latched onto a Jorge Henrique assist and struck home the winner against São Paulo.

And they have bought a striker !!!

Internacional's new signing Ignacio Scocco hopes to adapt quickly to his new club and to Brazilian football.

The Porto Alegre-based club paid US$ 6.5 million to sign him, turning him into their most expensive signing ever. He was officially presented to fans this Friday, along with Alex.

"Scocco hopes to adapt quickly, he told press: "I can adapt very quickly, I know the Brazilian league as I have played against from here, and due to watching TV.

"I hope to adapt quickly so I can become available for my teammates and the manager as soon as possible."

The Argentine striker is not sure if he should play the derby against Grêmio on Sunday though, he said: "I obviously know what it is like to play such a derby, it's a match everyone wants to play."

Bale is going to RM, 80m odd wont be turned down if player wants to leave

Which leaves Spurs with a lot of money, and a need to appease the fans, so you'd think they buy at least Soldado if not 2 strikers

Same at Liverpool, if/when Suarez leaves they can bring in one or two top strikers and players may simply be waiting to see what unfolds

Add Rooney into that as well and my guess is nothing moves for a while, may be a lot of teams start the season as they are and it comes down to the deadline.

Yep, same every season...once the big transfers have gone through the flood gates will open and money will start changing hands everywhere.

doesn't look like he's been selected by Scolari for Brazil's friendly against Switzerland in a couple of weeks. Perhaps because he's got a Prem game at West Brom a few days later ?? Maybe he's just a bit crap though. A few more non-selections and you're looking at work permit problems.
