New Away Shirt - do you like it

doggface

In the interests of fairness, we have quite a clear picture developing of the initial reaction to the home. Although I think it's alright I don't like it enough to buy it, and 2 red shirts on the trot is one too much - I am not going to buy it.

However, what does everyone think of the away? Another poll perhaps?

My opinion, although it is a template design it really works for me with the black, white and silver. Wish it had silver numbers but not in the premier league range I believe.

If it is good enough for Spain it is good enough for me! Will order one.

Difficult to go too far wrong with an away shirt (although obviously they managed it quite impressively last season  ), you've basically got every colour other than the one(s) used in the main shirt to choose from - even blue has been acceptable in the past. The black one's smart enough, albeit still pretty basic, and £50 for a shirt that'll get worn half a dozen times or so is still obscene.

I hate it, I see why it was picked after the white kit clashes with EVERYTHING fiasco last season, but it just looks like a newcastle kit when the stripes have washed out. It's so unsaints like, though I do have a horrible soft spot for the 09/10 away kit so my opinions on away kits are some what tempered because of the unconditional love of that royal blue and yellow kit.

The problem with the away kit is that when it will be used clearly hasn't been thought through. It will only be used in the black shirts, white shorts combination at Liverpool and Cardiff. The shorts will have to change at United, Stoke, Arsenal, West Ham and Villa. Black shorts would have been much more sensible and I guess we will get them as an option, unless we wear the red shorts. There is no need for a 3rd kit though until we get Bournemouth in the cup.

Just can't abide that V shape thing. Looks awful to me. I can live with the grim colour (or lack of one) but it just doesn't look good in my opinion. Zero chance of me buying either shirt but that's because I'm approaching 60 and blokes my age shouldn't be prancing about in football shirts. ;)

Lots of chav saints fans in v-necks incoming. Its like Portsmouth fans have switched over already. Kit would be good without it. With it it is horrendous. Worse than the home. Home kit is at least smart. Just not saints.

If he wanted to change the clubs image and make us Stand out in the prem, then an all white "miss Southampton" style was the way to go. Smart, well liked, and distinct in England bar leeds' all white kits. Our marketing department are regards.

Repeating what I said on the main kit thread, the away kit is just drab, has a quality of "nothingness" to it.

Someone else made the observation that the white 'v' collar makes it appear like a Rugby League shirt. The worst thing about the white 'v' for me, is that it looks reminiscent of those vile Everton blue Le Coq Sportif 'Hafnia' shirts from the 80's. Anyone who was at Highbury in 1984 will probably realise why it 'brings me out in a rash'.

They've not done a bad job on the away keepers shirt .... about 2 tones of darkness away from the players kit ...... don't think it will get many airings unless worn with our home kit!!

Does anybody actually think these things through?
