Nope. She's the greatest living female singer songwriter.

Some people's choices above are so achingly predictable for a football forum.

Wondered how long it would be before someone came up with the achingly predictable but nonetheless pathetically snide "everyone else's choice is ****" comment. Not long as it happens. Well done you.

Good thread.

Neutral Milk Hotel - In the aeroplane over the sea

Decemberists - Her Majesty

Ludovico Einaudi - In a time lapse

Richard & Linda Thompson - I want to see the bright lights tonight

David Sylvian - Brilliant Trees

Ask me in 2 months and at least 3 of those will be displaced from my pool of ~20 special albums.

Oddly enough, some other contributors have picked albums or artists my top ~100. So as a service to this community, I've helpfully edited down their posts.

Perhaps when we get to the island, we can meet up for a music sesh?

I didn't say their choices were bad? And anyway I was only referring to a couple of them. To be fair there's a lot of good stuff on this thread.

Predictable doesn't have to mean it's bad. It's predictable that Lambert will score a penalty when he steps up to take one.

1) Rage Against The Machine's eponymous debut.

I simply wouldn't exist as me without it. Massively influential.

2) Appetite For Destruction - Guns n Roses

My gateway rock album that doesn't suck today.

3) Different Class - Pulp

This album and I met at a perfect time. I have a lot of time for Pulp, generally.

4) R.A.P Music - Killer Mike

Hardcore G sh!t.

5) One Beat - Sleater Kinney

Dunno if this is their best album, but it's the one I'd take.

The Jam - Going Underground

There is no such album - Goodness knows how many infractions that is worth.

LOL!!!! Realised that after I posted and I left it to see how long it would last... also quoted by Bletch further down the thread .. it should of course be the incomparable 'All Mod Cons'.
