Wes Tender Posted 27 June, 2013 Share Posted 27 June, 2013 The French border is only 45 mins away from us. You planning on taking any Le Harve pre-season games in? No. The car doesn't double as a submarine. But if I lived in Tarvisio, I wouldn't hesitate to drive to a match in Villach.

alpine_saint Posted 27 June, 2013 Author Share Posted 27 June, 2013 Seriously, if some of you are so disinterested or so dismissive of the info I offered in good will, why bother posting ? No point in my saying I wont bother again in future, because its so unlikely I will be "at point" again, but if I hear any interesting developments in the weeks running up to these two games, I simply wont bother. I am back in my office for the first time since the announcement today, and a few Italians from Udine have already indicated they might go. Nobody is having a direct pop at you, just merely mocking the information that the stadium provided you. Now put your tampon back in.

That's 803 maybes then. This is heading for a sell out, IMO.

This Charming Man Posted 27 June, 2013 Share Posted 27 June, 2013 My mistake.. When you start throwing mincy little tantrums like that, it is inevitable that people will turn on you.
Wes Tender Posted 27 June, 2013 Share Posted 27 June, 2013 Are you going to watch any Reading/Brighton/Bournemouth pre-season games? Brilliant analogy comparison, that. None of those teams is in the Premiership and as far as I'm aware, none of them is playing a top European team equivalent to Schalke. However, if I were holidaying north of Lisbon, I might well go to watch Nigel's team play Leiria. It's quite a nice stadium. If I were in Madrid, I might well amble along to see the Seagulls play Getafe and if in Zurich, I might even go as far as watching the Cherries. But as I'm not on holiday in any of those places, it is rather academic. None of their home fixtures hold much attraction to me. It isn't as if any of them are playing any top division European teams over here.
John Boy Saint Posted 27 June, 2013 Share Posted 27 June, 2013 Actually the turning up an hour early is not a bad thing as despite being against a local La Liga side my last experience saw them only having 2 windows for tickets open and a real bunfight to get in. It's a friendly so everything will be low key all round.

Whitey Grandad Posted 27 June, 2013 Share Posted 27 June, 2013 I actually really want to know if Alpine speaks German. Of course he does, but with an Austrian accent. Just like Hitler Thanks for the info, Alpine. I only wish I could go
alpine_saint Posted 28 June, 2013 Author Share Posted 28 June, 2013 I actually really want to know if Alpine speaks German. Yes, for over 15 years. My wife is Austrian, my kids were all born here, and I have to communicate with doctors, teachers, authorities etc, even if I have limited opportunity to use it in my business. So, whats your point ?
