Is this guy for real? Keeps posting on Twitter that he has been "told" this or that he "understands" that.

Now saying he has been "told" we aren't interested in Nainggolan. Earlier in the week he thought he was a pacy winger.

Said days before we signed Lovren that there would be no signings until July.

This week he has had an absolute nightmare, pretty clear he has no sources and is just spouting whatever the other reports are at that time.

Genuinely a bit concerned for the lad's welfare.

He goes to the pressers and is certainly a Journalist, no question of that.

But he clearly has little additional info than we do. In fact, this morning his story in the Star was that we had bid 15m for Nainggolan and then an hour ago he "understood" we had no interest in him.

Just don't want people to be taken in by him.

Well people shot him down when we said that he understood Nigel Adkins would be replaced by Pochettino.

Which he found out about late the night before. It had been in the Spanish press for weeks yet he didn't pick up on that.

But clearly any journo who is truly close to the club would have picked up on the story a lot sooner.

lets be honest. Journos hear stuff, tweet stuff. Sometimes they no doubt do clubs or agents a 'favour' by letting slips certain details. Whether those details being told to him are true or not. Who knows.

but I really doubt they go to work and think "I know, I am going to completely make stuff up about Southampton FC, or Cardiff, Or Norwich etc"

no, if he is just retweeting other tweets, then fair enough

He did pick up on the new info quickly though...

Took him less than an hour to notice simon peach's tweet that said the same thing.

He isn't retweeting, he tweets them saying "I understand" or "I've been told" and then rehashes rumours floating about everywhere.

Same day his article in the Star says we have bid 15m for Nainggolan (who earlier this week he told people was a flying winger) he "has been told" we have no interest in him. Would have been handy to know that before saying we have bid for him really.

People are hanging off his every word when the reality is he knows little more than we do.

No or course they don't but you lose credibility and authenticity when you constantly contradict yourself on Twitter. He could do more to explain what's a personal opinion not backed by any sources or knowledge vs something which actually knows. It seems he tries to pass everything off as his when most of it isn't. He is a journo however, so will on occasion get a scoop.

if he works for a news paper. I would suggest he has more of a clue than nearly all of the posters on this forum

Well that really wouldn't be difficult would it. I would suggest the word "nearly" may be superfluous with the possible exception of VMan.

I use to date a journalist, she did a decent BJ and that was about the sum of her "talents". Oh yeah she wrote an agony aunt column for a Woman's Weekly but she let me do it most of the time and let me assure you my journalistic talents are sub zero.

Are we still talking about Alex Crook here!?

no, we're talking about journalists in general :p. Being a journalist doesn't necessarily mean you know what you're doing

or knowing anything about your subject. Read Scoop, Waugh might not have been so wrong as all that.

lol brilliant. Serves him right really, does he not realise how silly he looks?? Always hours behind anything.

I could create a twitter feed and do it an hour earlier than him.

Just ruins any credibility by commenting on absolutely evert Twitter rumour. There was one made up by one of those Saintsfan twitter jerks saying Ramirez had handed in a transfer request and he was saying he "understood" that was not the case. It wasn't even a credible rumour FFS.

His job is to turn up at the press conferences, write down what the manager and player say and then produce a newspaper report of it for those who don't read the OS or watch Saints Player.

He is trying to come across like he is well connected but he isn't. Of course some rumours will come off, but many like the Chelsea one above will have been "understood" incorrectly.

It's my understanding that you are correct.

What a bunch of *****s some of you lot are. Why do people either know "everything" or "nothing"? As I've said before, he's an agency hack. In fact he co-owns the Portsmouth based agency he works at, so I'd say he's significantly more connected than us lot. No, he doesn't know everything, but he's only doing his ****ing job in tweeting stuff he thinks or hears. I've no idea what you lot are expecting sometimes. Mongboard indeed.

Look there is absolutely nothing to stop me teaming up with a few on here, starting some second rate news agency, that to be honest, looks extremely cheap and tacky (mynewsagency.co.uk), and just keep tweeting stuff that others are tweeting. I am just as efficient in the Twitter search function as Crook is.

This morning summed him up. Sees Goal and SkySports article re: Nainggolan rejecting us / not interested in coming and tweets saying that 'he has been told' / 'he understands' we arent interested yet forgets that he today has an article in the Star saying we're interested and have bid £15m. Now that is something stupidly amateurish.

Without doubt the worst attempt at creating an alias I have ever seen.

Go through the effort of creating a new account, avatar, a new name (Brett from Camden) and then make zero effort in changing anything about your posting style.

Interesting to see clubs flexing their financial muscle #saintsfc #wba and #swansea have all made significant signings.

Help me, what significant financial flexing signings has WBA made??

They signed Nicolas Anelka this evening. Yes, he is 34, a free transfer and on the decline, but I bet he is still on a very big wage.
