New tv

[EBS1980]

Any recommend any good ones out there at the mo? Don't want to spend a fortune but do like my gadgets.

 

My current one is a toshiba Regza and I think is about 5 years old.

I recently got a Samsung U5500. Been very impressed with it so far. Sounds like you may want a better model than that though

I was looking at the 84" version of that Sony here in SA at the weekend (not with any intention to buy you understand). R250,000 that's about fifteen thousand of your English pounds. Awesome machine, but that is one helluva lot of money for a telly.

The problem with big tellies of this size and resolution is the lack of source material.

Fair point. Most of the TVs in the shop were showing the Lions match (why were you in an audio visual shop in a shopping mall on Saturday, hutch?) but the big one was showing pre-recorded demo stuff.
