How has Ramirez performed lately for Uruguay?

Played 45 minutes in their first game against Spain. Looked ok. Played central midfield behind the strikers, tracking back to defend and surging forward to support their attack.

Didn't do anything exceptional but equally did nothing wrong. Was substituted to try something different tactically in the second half... it didn't work.

He´s pretty much 11-12th pick at Uruguay so he will be in and out of the team from game to game.

Very good against France, decent against Spain.

We should be happy, if he had fantastic games maybe some teams would go in for him and we would lose him.

He will be immense next year.

Yeah, but if you expand the scope beyond mere wit, asking ceaseless childlike questions about stuff that you can find out yourself would beat sarcasm in a "more annoying" contest.

In my mental world, anyway :)

Uruguay have an ageing side and need to transition to their younger players like Gaston and move away from the likes of Forlan, though I'm not sure a "winner takes all" match against Nigeria to (most likely) keep the winner in the Confederations Cup is necessarily the time to make that transition.

I suspect he might get a bit more of a run against Tahiti on the weekend... which FWIW is why the OP should consider his targets and his timing a little more carefully, as he'll probably set up or score 6 goals this weekend.

Beckham-esque, surely such quality would demand a first team place?

They try to fit Forlan, Suarez and Cavani all into the same team who are all strikers essentially so their midfield 3 is usually quite defensive, so doesn't really suit Gaston. No shame being kept out of the team by those 3.
