Lallana's Left Peg Posted 8 July, 2013 Share Posted 8 July, 2013 People on here I understand are going to be a little bit biased about our club but such one eyed skewed vision is stupid, Everton, Liverpool and Spurs are all far far bigger than us so to secure the players us and them want we will have to pay more, thats the reality of it, why would a player choose us over them? Why? First team football is the biggest driver and likely only reason assuming all other things would be equal.
Barry Sanchez Posted 8 July, 2013 Share Posted 8 July, 2013 First team football is the biggest driver and likely only reason assuming all other things would be equal. Is first team football really the issue?Players still represent their Nation without being 1st choice for their club, Wayne Bridge obviously didn't give ****s and there are many others. Olallana Posted 8 July, 2013 Share Posted 8 July, 2013 yep Everton are always skint, have been for about 50 years now, never stopped them buying who they want when they want before. Just helps keep the fees down perhaps although I doubt if other clubs fall for their "we're skint" attitude these days. Nigh on 52 million £ in PL receipts, 36K+ home gates, big fee for letting Moyes go to Manure, yep, they've not 2 halfpennies to rub together. They seem to have money when they need it, that´s for sure. But did they get any fee for Moyes, I thought his contract was up this summer? One thing though, didn´t Everton have one of the highest percentage in what their wages cost compared to total incomes when it was shown a few months ago? My point, don´t they have to sell someone that has big wages too before they take Wanyama in, not just for the sake of the fee...

itchen_dan Posted 9 July, 2013 Share Posted 9 July, 2013 Charles Paterson (scottish sky sports reporter - does some of the transfer updates also) has been doing a live transfer chat special on the Sky Sports website. He was asked about Wanyama leaving Celtic and confirmed that Wayama's agent is back in talks with us so i reckon we could see some serious movement on this before the week is out. I think Poch will want another one in before the trip to Spain next week,
buctootim Posted 9 July, 2013 Share Posted 9 July, 2013 (edited) Sounds like we could end up with Lovren, Wanyama and maybe one other. Extra cutting edge up front is the real priority now imo. I think I'd rather have Hooper than Damiao. Im not saying Hooper is better, but he is cheaper and much less of a risk imo. Leaks come from agents or selling clubs to put pressure onto prospective buyers. Information hacks just help them do that. When Wanyama's agent wants something to be known it will be all over the place.

Not sure this guy will be here for the right reasons To be fair he himself has not indicated he doesn't want to play here. It looks as though it is the agent fee (based on rumours) that is the problem. If it is true he wants £1m+ then he sounds like an agent that could cause problems in the future. For that reason alone I kind of hope we walk from this deal.

I agree, cant help thinking though if agent is the problem and he 100% wants to play for us, then surely he has the authority to say to the agent "I want to sign, make it happen and you cant screw this up for me you greedy ****" or similar words

Smirking_Saint Posted 9 July, 2013 Share Posted 9 July, 2013 qpr QPRs issues was caused by infighting more than anything, established players not happy with the so called 'world class' players coming in on a rediculous wedge who in reality were not that much better than what was originally there. Under Warnock the rot started, Hughes the rot set in and TBH Redknapp just exacerbated it. By that time they were knackered, a lack of any real transfer committee hurt any real intent and until TF gets that under control they are screwed
