@sean_marshall88: Reports suggesting that #saintsfc have sorted out personal term with #victor Wanyama and could be finalised this evening.

@sean_marshall88: @SouthamptonMike talk sport just now

@sean_marshall88: @JoeHallifax still waiting for more news on talk sport

SSN saying the same, maybe just picking up on the rumours though!

Can someone actually confirm what the actual problem is ?

I read on some sites we couldnt agree to his personal terms and I have also read we wouldn't accept his agents bumper fee?

Posted
Personal terms had been agreed a number of days ago/week or two.

The issue is agentvfee's.

I thought the agent was fired? Or is that just a rumour...?

Really? SSN saying he has agreed terms?

He has been pictured today in Germany with the Celtic squad.

is this the signing you have been alluding to?

No idea, was told an oversea's signing was near completion. As ever, no names.

It does make sense, if Cardiff have pulled out and no-one else has come in his agents have nothing. NC for the win. Expect this to be done quickly now seeing as he's meant to play for Celtic at Cluj tomorrow and im guessing he hasn't travelled

Scotland to England isn't "overseas".

I havn't seen the photograph but assuming that's true he may have left the squad to travel. If he does start in Romania then I think we'll know the situation.

Either way sounds like the deal is bery close. Surely that rules out Banenga?

Two different players in our system i'd have thought. Wanyama would play next to Morgan with Banega the central AM

Not sure why anyone's concerned with whether he plays for Celtic or not. He's their player at the moment so of course he will. People play competitive league games for their old clubs before moves are finalised.

For me, Wanyama is a DM powerhouse that sits next to Morgan and Banega is the box to box player that plays in front of those two, much like Davis but with bags more ability.

Oh yeah their totally different styled players but surely we won't sign both!?

So he could be merely hours away from magically changing from a money grabbing typical greedy footballer scumbag to the perfect signing, a young and hungry player signed on to the "project", our vision for the club and thrilled about the young and hungry talent he'll be playing with.

CB, that's very cynical of you - but I do agree to a certain extent. It should be remembered that he hasn't said a word about anything. All I have heard is his father and his agent. Nothing from him.

Sorry, I should of been clearer, they stated that a deal should be done one way or another, by this evening hth.

He isn't his agent anymore though, it was that Ivan Modia bloke.

According to that forum, Rob Moore owns the company that Modia works for. So they are both his agents.

But he is right, if Wanyama snubbed us he'd be the sh1t on our shoes, if he does sign he's brilliant... That's football fans for you, fickle as f**k..

I'm not saying he'll sign, but it's more than possible for the deal to go through and him not be in the country. Let's also remember that signing and an announcement are two different things. The paperwork could go through today but he might not be unveiled for another week.

Neil Lennon has openly said Celtic have accepted a bid and evidently he's still got him for pre-season training. Therefore you could reason that whilst all the formalities are being completed he's happy to have him train with the team.

There's no reason to doubt it, but not enough to actually support the idea he could sign soon, I suppose...

Unlikely as Celtic have a game tomorrow, next Tuesday snd next Friday plus public training sessions during the week on a training camp. It would be hard to keep his moving to Saints a secret, they might as well just announce it as soon as it is confirmed. Why would he play or train for Celtic if he was a Southampton player?

I didn't say he was. I said whilst it was being sorted out he could train for them. Say the deal falls through and he's not trained with the others, it just puts them on the backfoot. I've seen players play pre-season friendlies before driving off to sign for another club not long after full time.

You also don't know that Lovren was announced the second the deal was done - or any other transfer for that matter.
