Turkish Posted 15 June, 2013 Posted 15 June, 2013 Oxford United. As for Chez..... Reuben Agboola. Yep agboola for that one.
Colinjb Posted 15 June, 2013 Author Posted 15 June, 2013 Yep agboola for that one. A real gentleman, played for the home side in the Football Aid game I played at St Mary's. We had Dave Puckett on our 'away' team, scored our only goal.

Chez Posted 15 June, 2013 Posted 15 June, 2013 Oxford United. As for Chez..... Reuben Agboola. Reuben is correct.
Colinjb Posted 15 June, 2013 Author Posted 15 June, 2013 Reuben is correct. Which club did Patrick Colleter move to after leaving Saints? No cheating now....
John Boy Saint Posted 15 June, 2013 Posted 15 June, 2013 Olympic Marsailles is in the mix somewhere so I will go with that
Chez Posted 15 June, 2013 Posted 15 June, 2013 Olympic Marsailles is in the mix somewhere so I will go with that I think we signed him from there. No idea where he went. Anderlech?
John Boy Saint Posted 15 June, 2013 Posted 15 June, 2013 I think we signed him from there. No idea where he went. Anderlech? I thought he came from Nantes so he could have gone there after us or Bordeaux
MarkSFC Posted 16 June, 2013 Posted 16 June, 2013 Reuben is correct. Can be seen at The Peartree Inn having a pint or two occasionally.
Right sider Posted 16 June, 2013 Posted 16 June, 2013 Just checked and it was cannes Ok Saints signed 2 russians in the early 90's. Name them and the clubs we signed them from?
MarkSFC Posted 16 June, 2013 Posted 16 June, 2013 Sergei Gotsmanov and Alexie Cherednik. No idea on clubs without googling but guess at Dynamo Moscow
Turkish Posted 16 June, 2013 Posted 16 June, 2013 (edited) Sergei Gotsmanov and Alexie Cherednik. No idea on clubs without googling but guess at Dynamo Moscow The club was Dneper for Cherdnick anyway. Edited 16 June, 2013 by Turkish
Right sider Posted 16 June, 2013 Posted 16 June, 2013 Cherednik was dnipr, we played them in a friendly. Gotsmanov was closer to home.
saintedwill Posted 16 June, 2013 Posted 16 June, 2013 I'm sure Turkish is right if not its Bournemouth. It's one of the south coast clubs beginning with B.
Batman Posted 16 June, 2013 Posted 16 June, 2013 turkish is a bit like MLG when it comes to pointless sfc knowledge
Turkish Posted 16 June, 2013 Posted 16 June, 2013 turkish is a bit like MLG when it comes to pointless sfc knowledge It's not pointless, it helped my team to second place in the 2003 Saintsforver quiz night at Northam Social club. We'd have won if we all hadn't got smashed and spent the last round taking the p*ss out of everyone,
SaintBobby Posted 16 June, 2013 Posted 16 June, 2013 was brighton I think, but Turkish got there first.
Turkish Posted 16 June, 2013 Posted 16 June, 2013 (edited) Name the saints players from their occupations before becoming proffesional soccerballists. Rocket scientist Waiter Beetroot factory operative Edited 16 June, 2013 by Turkish
SaintBobby Posted 16 June, 2013 Posted 16 June, 2013 Name the former saints players from their occupations before becoming proffesional soccerballists. Rocket scientist Waiter Beetroot factory operative That was Lambert..the otehr two, hmmm.....
Turkish Posted 16 June, 2013 Posted 16 June, 2013 That was Lambert..the otehr two, hmmm..... Yep, that one was easy.
SaintBobby Posted 16 June, 2013 Posted 16 June, 2013 Name the saints players from their occupations before becoming proffesional soccerballists. Rocket scientist Waiter Beetroot factory operative Must be a fair few former waiters who have played for Saints?
SaintBobby Posted 16 June, 2013 Posted 16 June, 2013 So, who won that then? Dowie/Bennett/Lambert Am I the first to get all three? :-)
Turkish Posted 16 June, 2013 Posted 16 June, 2013 Must be a fair few former waiters who have played for Saints? Maybe, Bennet was the most famous one though as he was signed from a non league club and went from waiter to top flight footballer, I think his nickname was the flying waiter as he was very quick.
Turkish Posted 16 June, 2013 Posted 16 June, 2013 was Ian Dowie the Rocket Scientist? Yep, not sure who the winner is though.
SaintBobby Posted 16 June, 2013 Posted 16 June, 2013 Maybe, Bennet was the most famous one though as he was signed from a non league club and went from waiter to top flight footballer, I think his nickname was the flying waiter as he was very quick. Wasn't Grobbelar also a former waiter? Or maybe a barman.
Turkish Posted 16 June, 2013 Posted 16 June, 2013 Wasn't Grobbelar also a former waiter? Or maybe a barman. I remember Grobbelar being a solider in the Rhodesian army before playing in Canada and ending up at Liverpool.
SaintBobby Posted 16 June, 2013 Posted 16 June, 2013 I remember Grobbelar being a solider in the Rhodesian army before playing in Canada and ending up at Liverpool. Aye. Maybe I'm imagining things. Wouldn't be the first time...
SaintBobby Posted 16 June, 2013 Posted 16 June, 2013 I think you need to declare a winner for the last round, Turkish.
John Boy Saint Posted 16 June, 2013 Posted 16 June, 2013 was Ian Dowie the Rocket Scientist? He has a masters degree in Engineering and worked for British Aerospace which in The Sun equals Rocket Scientary! Have you never though that he looks like a weird scientist when Jeff Stelling says "and now over to Ian Dowie at the City Ground to see how Forest are getting on......." And bingo there is Dowie looking like the cameraman has just pointed a shotgun at him and flicked off the safety!
Turkish Posted 16 June, 2013 Posted 16 June, 2013 Aye. Maybe I'm imagining things. Wouldn't be the first time... In the absence of our quiz master Colinjb and it seems the other ones who got it right aren't around, then you win.your question.
Colinjb Posted 16 June, 2013 Author Posted 16 June, 2013 Yep, not sure who the winner is though. Whoever completes the 'set' wins... so it's Right Sider who gets the point.
SaintBobby Posted 16 June, 2013 Posted 16 June, 2013 When did Saints last fail to convert a penalty at St Mary's? Who fluffed it?
