John Boy Saint Posted 17 June, 2013 Posted 17 June, 2013 guess ground part 2 I'll add two more but then off to bed The Manor Ground - Oxford United
Chez Posted 17 June, 2013 Posted 17 June, 2013 this is easy, but I could resist including it. Look at this fella on the right hand side celebrating a goal in the home end. Mental surely?
John Boy Saint Posted 17 June, 2013 Posted 17 June, 2013 The 'Notorious' South Bank at Elm Park Reading
Chez Posted 17 June, 2013 Posted 17 June, 2013 The 'Notorious' South Bank at Elm Park Reading correct
Chez Posted 17 June, 2013 Posted 17 June, 2013 sorry, but can't keep my eyes open so you'll have to wing it.
John Boy Saint Posted 17 June, 2013 Posted 17 June, 2013 guess ground part 2 I'll add two more but then off to bed Plough Lane Wimbledon?
raynesparksaint Posted 17 June, 2013 Posted 17 June, 2013 How many former players scored against us last season? Name them
John Boy Saint Posted 17 June, 2013 Posted 17 June, 2013 this is easy, but I could resist including it. Look at this fella on the right hand side celebrating a goal in the home end. Mental surely? Hello everybody Peeps Stavros here, that would be the Totts scoring up the Ar$e
Sour Mash Posted 17 June, 2013 Posted 17 June, 2013 guess ground part 2 I'll add two more but then off to bed The Old Den. Where are you finding these pics? Some absolute crackers.
John Boy Saint Posted 17 June, 2013 Posted 17 June, 2013 Blackpool? Shirts are the wrong colour in Black and White to be Tangerine, I thought the Stretford end of old Trafford but the sun is in the wrong place. Might be Goodison
Sour Mash Posted 17 June, 2013 Posted 17 June, 2013 Yes, just found an aerial shot. I remember seeing some good footage of the '63 Semi Final there.
John Boy Saint Posted 17 June, 2013 Posted 17 June, 2013 Certainly a full house, there are even people sat on what looks like the roof of something alongside the covered stand. That Picture of Elm Park, I was stood in that stand when Saints played Reading in the league cup 1978 and in the second half watched Saints fans climbing up the Floodlight Pylon in the away end, took a while before the OB and stewards could get them down.
Lets B Avenue Posted 18 June, 2013 Posted 18 June, 2013 The Valley, Charlton ...? I thought it was confirmed as Villa Park. Who's got the next question?
Sour Mash Posted 18 June, 2013 Posted 18 June, 2013 Which player has scored the most Premiership/Premier League goals against Saints? And how many?
Colinjb Posted 18 June, 2013 Author Posted 18 June, 2013 Sour Mash has the question. He got the Villa park one right and has just posted so lets run from here.
Sour Mash Posted 18 June, 2013 Posted 18 June, 2013 Ian Wright? Lots. No, but that would have been my guess to be honest.
timayes Posted 18 June, 2013 Posted 18 June, 2013 Graham Sharpe - hatricks here, there, anywhere. 12?
Lets B Avenue Posted 18 June, 2013 Posted 18 June, 2013 No, but that would have been my guess to be honest. That's the trouble with thinking that football existed before 1992.
Sour Mash Posted 18 June, 2013 Posted 18 June, 2013 Graham Sharpe - hatricks here, there, anywhere. 12? Question is just for the Prem I'm afraid. Don't think Sharpe even got quite this many.
Appy Posted 18 June, 2013 Posted 18 June, 2013 Which player has scored the most Premiership/Premier League goals against Saints? And how many? Rooney?
Sour Mash Posted 18 June, 2013 Posted 18 June, 2013 Rooney? No. As a clue, the player is English and the goals would have been scored for two different northern clubs.
Sour Mash Posted 18 June, 2013 Posted 18 June, 2013 Shearer Correct, don't worry about guessing the number, it was 14.
Lets B Avenue Posted 18 June, 2013 Posted 18 June, 2013 Which was the first Saints game shown on MOTD?
Minty Posted 18 June, 2013 Posted 18 June, 2013 Is anyone old enough to remember? I'm certainly not... (and I can't find it on Google either, lol)
Lets B Avenue Posted 18 June, 2013 Posted 18 June, 2013 Off out for a couple of hours. Carry on without me.
Sour Mash Posted 18 June, 2013 Posted 18 June, 2013 Which was the first Saints game shown on MOTD? Stoke?
maysie Posted 18 June, 2013 Posted 18 June, 2013 Wel it's been on air since 22 August 1964. We were in division 1 1966/67. So at a guess Saint V Man U Sat 19th November 1966. 1-2 loss.
Colinjb Posted 18 June, 2013 Author Posted 18 June, 2013 I wonder if MOTD didn't limit itself solely to top flight games back then..... What game did we get promoted at in 65/66?
Lets B Avenue Posted 18 June, 2013 Posted 18 June, 2013 Wel it's been on air since 22 August 1964. We were in division 1 1966/67. So at a guess Saint V Man U Sat 19th November 1966. 1-2 loss. Only a few weeks out.
Colinjb Posted 18 June, 2013 Author Posted 18 June, 2013 Using a bit of cheating to check my answer.... https://sites.google.com/site/motdlistings/home/1966-67 Amazing it took them the best part of two years to get round to us.
