Let's not get too ahead of ourselves. I remember being excited in 2003/04 when we had exciting young talent like Fitz Hall, Grifitt, Folly and Darren Kenton and that all went wrong.

We finished higher that season than we did last season.

On Christmas Day 2003 Saints were 4th in the Premier League! :D

I tell you what, I really do think some of the best years in Southampton Football Club history are about to happen. In the next 2/3 years. I have believed this since the Championship season.

Blimey. If Kev's a believer, that's saying something!

Remember Rochdale, kidda? :D

Oh dear, that isn't Morph! How little you know, (the late) Tony Hart and Aardman animation will be most upset. :D

It is Morph's arch nemesis Chas!

*evil laugh*

Tony Hart won't be upset, he's dead.

MLG mode off.

(Yes I am aware that you said "late", that's still the kind of stuff you do though).

1) I said "late", which you acknowledged and then overlooked

2) Some people believe in an afterlife (although admittedly I don't)

:p

And on Boxing Day 2003 we were utterly crap at Loftus Road against Fulham.

I think that was when the players got wind that WGS was planning on leaving.

What happened the following season?

I've tried to erase that from memory in the same way Redknapp removed it from his CV!

Thankfully the Liebherr trust have higher ambitions and more resources than Rupert Lowe. Saints failed to press forward after the FA Cup final and 8th place finish of 2002/03, possibly leading to Strachan leaving and our decline. From 2001 to 2012 our record signing was Rory Delap for £4m ffs! :D

None of those were first team regulars. They just did a mediocre to poor job of filling in when the old farts like Dodd and lundekvam got injured. The team now is different, we've built a team around Cork and Morgan. Lallana, JRod, Shaw, Gaston and Clyne are all first team regulars too.

And to describe Kenton as "exciting" well that's far fetched. Don't know which forum it was on but I warned you all about Griffit, he was just too small for top level football. Why he was built up to be some sort of future star when he'd just played a few French league 2 games (Blue Sq level at best) stumps me.

Not being funny MLG but what do you know about Katharina and her ambitions? Cortese has incredible ambition, plans and the ability to action them, but I wonder what you know about Katherinas motivation and intentions other than her resources which are a matter of fact and beyond question.

LG and YF were just unfortunate, i feel if we used them when we were relegated they would of turned out pretty good championship players.

I don't think anyone would believe you even if you listed all your sources.

Yoanne Folly was terrible. He was instrumental in some of our worst performances when we went down, including the defeats at Spuds and Villa. In another game he was brought on as a sub and taken off again half an hour later.
