Can someone help me out? I can only name one of these. I lost track of all the names in the wilderness years.

From left to right: that pretty good midfielder who went to Doncaster; the full back who thought he was too good for us and jumped ship just before we turned the corner; no idea; Adam Lallana; no idea.

Thanks

"The Bales, the Walcotts, the Chambos..."

Am I the only one who can't stand this ridiculous pluralisation that seems to be a prevalent within the world of football these days? "The Bales.....", just how many Bales did we produce? Have we got any more on the books?

Simon Gillet, Lloyd James, Olly Lancashire ??.......,Alan the Llama, David McGoldrick (who owed 70% of the goals he scored in the youth team to AL)

Why does this picture serve as a reminder? None of these players are actually that good?

Because you have five players who are playing professional football, that started off at Saints and are plying their trade across different divisions. Very few clubs could lay claim to that......Which was kind of the point of the thread. They might not all be top flight footballers in the bale, Walcott, Oxo model, but there are plenty out there that have come through the ranks that are playing professional football.

McGoldrick was top scorer in League One for half of the season this year, until a Championship club came in for him. A far better player than many on the South Coast will give him credit for.

Um, if very few clubs produced five players, we would struggle to have a five-a-side league.

Fill your boots....another team that has (And this is a guess) 5 academy players playing professional football across all leagues - outside of man u. I think our total is somewhere near 15. The point is we are pretty good at that side of things.

If nothing else, that link also gives us a view of david in sweden's use of unnecessary bold and underlining at its absolute worst...
