Professor Posted 11 June, 2013 Share Posted 11 June, 2013 Hearing Mourinho talking about Chelsea players returning in the first week of July brings home how short the close season has become. Can anyone tell us when pre-season starts for Saints? Thought there was mention of another training camp in Switzerland and presumably the Memorial Cup competition will be held again but can find nothing on the OS. Any info, anyone? The silence on transfers is not a surprise as it is the Cortese way to do things quietly. It can be unsettling to see the 'big 6' being constantly linked with this player or that, but that's largely the media using their favoured clubs as fodder to fill the football spaces. All the same, it was suggested that Pochettino would like his squad in place by 1st July. How likely is that?
Saint Charlie Posted 11 June, 2013 Share Posted 11 June, 2013 MP suggested he wanted his squad in place but acknowledged it would be hard to do that because you are reliant on other players and clubs. Would imagine we go back same time as Chelsea

S-Clarke Posted 11 June, 2013 Share Posted 11 June, 2013 Pre-season is usually about 6 weeks, would imagine things will kick into life pre-season style early July.

Fan The Flames Posted 11 June, 2013 Share Posted 11 June, 2013 So long as you're not signing loads of players late on it's fine ahemmm Rickie Lambert. We got him late and he had the best season of his career. I've just look at RL stats and despite his previous seasons showing it was more of a gamble buying him than I previously thought. It came off a blinder though, it just goes to show it is fine lines this transfer malarkey.

Dan Posted 11 June, 2013 Share Posted 11 June, 2013 Pretty sure nearly every club in the Premier league has announced their pre season plans. No idea, why we feel to announce everything at the latest possible opportunity. Hope they announce it soon and there are some reasonably priced flights to wherever we are playing.
