Shroppie Posted 11 June, 2013 Posted 11 June, 2013 Since I'm away for the first two, it will be any two that I really don't want to miss.
dan17 Posted 18 June, 2013 Posted 18 June, 2013 When are the fixtures released? Thought it was today but maybe not? Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 4 Beta

And why not reveal the whole list if it's been printed out. As you say, more than likely a load...

itchen_dan Posted 18 June, 2013 Posted 18 June, 2013 Here's an apparent fixture leak. Has us down as CHELSEA AT HOME. Ties in with Cardiff v Spurs first game but can't see us having back to back home games?
itchen_dan Posted 18 June, 2013 Posted 18 June, 2013 And the list I printed is obviously bull**** as the Football League have announced 6 anniversary fixtures to be played on the opening day and guess what, NONE of them tie in with the 'leak' http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22894378 Football League opening day fixtures Championship: Burnley v Bolton, Derby v Blackburn League One: Preston v Wolves, Sheffield United v Notts County League Two: Rochdale v Hartlepool, Newport v Accrington Still hope we do get Chelsea though!
Saint Garrett Posted 18 June, 2013 Posted 18 June, 2013 I wanted Chelsea away first up. Be able to get a ticket, and never been there before.
saint_coxy Posted 18 June, 2013 Posted 18 June, 2013 Here's an apparent fixture leak. Has us down as CHELSEA AT HOME. Ties in with Cardiff v Spurs first game but can't see us having back to back home games? We won't be at Home to Chelsea and then at home to Cardiff, so I wouldn't believe this 'leak' at all
Matthew Le God Posted 18 June, 2013 Posted 18 June, 2013 Maybe not be able to prevent people revealing the fixture list, but the fact that the fixture list doesn't yet exist is a pretty bit obstacle. The list is signed off the day before its public release. It is a long consultation process which involves talking to the clubs and other parties (police/councils etc) since the end of March. So Saints will already have seen their fixtures as they would have to inform the list compilers of any potential issues and changes that need to be made. http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/paulfletcher/2009/06/secrets_of_the_fixture_compute.html
Lets B Avenue Posted 18 June, 2013 Posted 18 June, 2013 Here's an apparent fixture leak. Has us down as CHELSEA AT HOME. Ties in with Cardiff v Spurs first game but can't see us having back to back home games? Us, Bompey and The Skates all at home? Most unlikely.
Viking Warrior Posted 18 June, 2013 Posted 18 June, 2013 Last three home games away man city , home to Man U and then finally away to Liverpool . Quite an easy run in
Minty Posted 18 June, 2013 Posted 18 June, 2013 Away to Norwich. You read it here first. Nope... Norwich away... Sorry.
Whitey Grandad Posted 18 June, 2013 Posted 18 June, 2013 Well I read it there first. Did I put Norwich? Should have been Sunderland.
Whitey Grandad Posted 18 June, 2013 Posted 18 June, 2013 Us, Bompey and The Skates all at home? Most unlikely. Let me see... Which shall I go to?
trousers Posted 18 June, 2013 Posted 18 June, 2013 (edited) Norwich away... This may be of interest to some: http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/news/news/2013-14/jun/how-the-fixture-list-is-compiled.html This bit might be slightly interesting: Last season, for example, there was a requirement from the Metropolitan Police not to play high-profile matches until after 8 September because of the Olympics and Paralympics. I assume by this they mean the likes of Man Utd and Man City would have been prevented playing in London in the opening few weeks of the season....so, could this one off "obstacle" in computing the fixtures have contributed, in part, to us getting 3 of the top 4 teams in our opening games, and thus we can blame our poor start, in part, on the Olympics...? It must have increased the chances of us (and other lower profile non-London teams) drawing the higher profile teams early on.... Excuse me while I think out loud, won't you.... Lets B Avenue Posted 18 June, 2013 Posted 18 June, 2013 And another thing. The FL starts 2 weeks before we do. Is that supposed to be the opening FL games or their 3rd?

September Saint Posted 18 June, 2013 Posted 18 June, 2013 Here's an apparent fixture leak. Has us down as CHELSEA AT HOME. Ties in with Cardiff v Spurs first game but can't see us having back to back home games? Are we saying that Pompey, Saints & Bournemouth are all at home on the opening day? Can't see the police OK'ing that.
Matthew Le God Posted 18 June, 2013 Posted 18 June, 2013 Are we saying that Pompey, Saints & Bournemouth are all at home on the opening day? Can't see the police OK'ing that. The opening day for Portsmouth and Bournemouth is 3rd August and it is the 17th August for Saints. Those fixtures are't right anyway, as this proves... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22894378

Those fixtures are't right anyway, as this proves... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22894378 I wonder if Stoke will play Everton, and WBA play Villa (or Villa V Everton and Stoke V WBA etc etc)
SNOWY Posted 18 June, 2013 Posted 18 June, 2013 Nope... Sorry. If you two gentleman care to check page 1 you will notice that Norwich Away is already taken!
SW5 SAINT Posted 18 June, 2013 Posted 18 June, 2013 Us, Bompey and The Skates all at home? Most unlikely. and Brighton...........
Whitey Grandad Posted 18 June, 2013 Posted 18 June, 2013 If you two gentleman care to check page 1 you will notice that Norwich Away is already taken! I thought you were predicting that Norwich would be away.
dannysfc Posted 18 June, 2013 Posted 18 June, 2013 Well firstly I Don't fancy a Big team first at home/away again like last season for the 2nd time in a row tbh even though we gave it a good go at Man City so I wouldn't mind a nice Easy start with something like Fulham/Cardiff/Norwich at home/away will do me but we'l see how kind the computer list is to us this coming season! COYR!!!
Shroppie Posted 18 June, 2013 Posted 18 June, 2013 Spurs away. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/liverpool-premier-league-fixtures-leaked-1960617 Looks like that's taken too.
Batman Posted 18 June, 2013 Posted 18 June, 2013 I reckon we will get Norwich or Stoke or Sunderland at home. We will lose and to some, that would mean the season is over, the summer was wasted, MP is clueless and the new signings are crap
itchen_dan Posted 18 June, 2013 Posted 18 June, 2013 SimonPeach: #SaintsFC kicking off their season at #AFC, according to @REDactionAFC. Easy three points then. REDactionAFC: Opening fixture of the new season will be HOME to SOUTHAMPTON

Saint_lambden Posted 18 June, 2013 Posted 18 June, 2013 Does it really matter that much? We've got to play everyone at some point and we're miles better than when we played there last season.
Olallana Posted 18 June, 2013 Posted 18 June, 2013 Arsenal hasn´t experienced our pressure game so they wont know what hit them
Batman Posted 18 June, 2013 Posted 18 June, 2013 Does it really matter that much? We've got to play everyone at some point and we're miles better than when we played there last season. of course it matters. momentum is massive. look at the shambles last season with the horrendous start we had
CB Fry Posted 18 June, 2013 Posted 18 June, 2013 of course it matters. momentum is massive. look at the shambles last season with the horrendous start we had So do we want to start by playing Man City, Chelsea and Liverpool? Or West Brom, West Ham and Sunderland? Which ones will give us the most momentum? (Or is it really not that important)
itchen_dan Posted 18 June, 2013 Posted 18 June, 2013 Get a good start and you're under less pressure as the season goes on. Look at West Ham and West Brom as the perfect examples. Both had blinding starts and despite both having pretty big wobbles towards the early end of the season, they were both still well clear of any danger because of the head start they gained. We however were always playing catch up last season after our first 10 games. The stats prove after those 10 that our points ratios etc were of a top 10 team so if we had the same start as the previously mentioned teams, we would've been right up there. The first 6 - 8 fixtures are more important than people think.
