DuncanRG Posted 8 June, 2013 Share Posted 8 June, 2013 I was just thinking about the debate over what our CB pairing will be next season, with two newish signings (Forren and Yoshida) presumably in our plans and at least one more to come in. Considering nobody has really been able to think of players with both quality and the willingness to play second fiddle to Shaw, would it not make sense to bring in a centre half who is competent on the left? Think Jan Vertonghen but a bit worse. For what it's worth I expect us to sign a full back who is genuine competition for Shaw rather than a concrete second choice, but it's still a thought. Saint_clark Posted 8 June, 2013 Share Posted 8 June, 2013 Nah, the last few years we have pretty much had two competent players for each position. I know we didn't really use the likes of Richardson that much but I always thought that was a bit harsh, he was never really given a chance to prove himself. SuperMikey Posted 8 June, 2013 Share Posted 8 June, 2013 Forren can play LB and has done so for club and country. Got to be worth a try.
