Fitzhugh Fella Posted 6 June, 2013 Share Posted 6 June, 2013 I gather Ron has now been cremated in Albuqurque and his ashes flown to Oregon where his daughter lives. I was interviewed by BBC R4 this morning for a feature on Ron in their "The Last Word" programme. Mick Channon also contributed. It might be aired tomorrow at 4, but I gather it may now be put back due to the death of Tom Wolfe but it will definitely be broadcasted soon - if not tomorrow they will let me know when. That's about it.

ART Posted 6 June, 2013 Share Posted 6 June, 2013 I gather Ron has now been cremated in Albuqurque and his ashes flown to Oregon where his daughter lives. ..................................................... That's about it. In other words the wishes of his fans who were there for him in his career and hour of need, have been completely ignored. I am disgusted.............. lifeintheslowlane Posted 6 June, 2013 Share Posted 6 June, 2013 Why? I don't think any of us know what was written in Ron's will. I wouldn't be surprised he wanted to be interred next to his beloved wife Chris...nothing to be disgusted about there.
Badger Posted 6 June, 2013 Share Posted 6 June, 2013 The wishes of Ron's family are all that matter here to be honest, its entirely up to his daughter and the others to decide where his ashes are taken or remain. I assume Art's comment was intended in jest.

The Kraken Posted 6 June, 2013 Share Posted 6 June, 2013 Yes and where were this family when Ron was scraping a living on building sites, living as a pauper unable to get medical help for himself or his wife. What on earth do you think gives you the right to dictate his funeral arrangements? Your advice to the previous poster of "keeping your nose out of matters that are not of your concern" ring rather large here.

Totally agree, absolutely not pointing fingers, we can all be passionate Southampton fans, just that Ron would want us to be as one. I believe that Ron left instructions (a type of will) what he wanted doing with his 'remains', mementos etc, most probably with his daughter(s). We know he really admired and respected his father, he may want to rest near him.
