Gonzala Bueno?

Saint Garrett

Recommended Posts

His agent, Pablo Bentancur (same as Gaston's) has travelled to Europe to meet with four clubs, Saints being one of them. Seems we have the upper hand and made the best offer so far, we also have Gaston as a friend who will help him settle and a manager that can speak Spanish and help the young lad along. Seems his family are keen for him to join.

"Zorro"

In another order, the businessman Pablo Bentancur traveled to Europe and one of its purposes was to begin to define the future of good Gonzalo. In addition to the interest of the Southampton of England, the stronger to take the "Zorro", there are three Italian teams who also have young striker tricolor folder.

Bentancur was scheduled to meet with the four European institutions so that time, well can decide where you want to migrate. Today, the Southampton has advantage and not only by the excellent economic offer, which according to sources tricolor would be a business record. For good would be great to have another Uruguayan as Companion: Gastón Ramírez. In addition, coach of the English team is the Argentine Mauricio Pochettino and work with a coach who speaks Spanish much facilitate the adaptation of the juvenile to English football. All these aspects are taken into account by good and his family when making a decision.

Anyway, and despite meetings that will keep Bentancur on the old continent, there is no trouble of the entrepreneur or national to realize the pass since the "Zorro" integrates campus of the under-20 that will debut in the World Championship category next Sunday in Turkey and have a good performance in this competition would rise even more your quote.

What is clear is that after the World Cup, the "Zorro" will not national. Moreover, unlike what happened in the previous period passes, when Bueno said that not to the possibility of going to Russian football, is now convinced that is time to leave.

Seems odd that we'd break our transfer record for a player with so few appearances and frankly, experience. http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/gonzalo-bueno/profil/spieler_188733.html is clearly not completely reliable, but just looking at his current history, their valuation of him seems, to an outsider, far more appropriate. I'm not writing him off and I'm sure Saints have scouted him heavily, but its surely a massive risk to put such a large chunk of our transfer budget into a relatively unknown player!

Sounds promising. Take it none of the Under 20 tournament will be on tv over here? Edited by Sour Mash

Thought the suggestion is we'd be paying £8/10m for him, certainly less than Ramirez?

I must admit I haven't seen a figure but when reading the bit "the Southampton has advantage and not only by the excellent economic offer, which according to sources tricolor would be a business record" I assumed it meant a record fee for someone buying a player from his present club Nacional Montevideo.

Badly worded...I meant the highest fee ever received by Nacional Montevideo for a player, their record, not ours.

Certainly sounds promising! Fits the club ethic of developing youngsters too. I just hope MP and Gaston can convince him to come if he's as highly regarded in Uruguay as stated. Need this wrapped up prior to the tournament though.

Is it a south American site, as the language is Italian? I'll go and and have another nose on some Italian sites.

Who are the SWF sources at the De Vere and Limehouse? If we all chipped in we could book a room in each for the remainder of the window to do some spying.

Maybe Steve G can contribute some SWF membership fee's towards this worthy effort?

Speculate to accumulate, if SWF was THE place for breaking hotel based transfer news, memberships would rocket.

It worth a shout tbh. We would need someone who would be ok to remain in the Hotel for the duration, with only the internet and some Saints shadowing to keep them occupied. Any thoughts?

Glasgow_Saint would be a good option. He is always on here and would probably relish a break from the slums of Glasgow and his information is always reliable.

Barry Sanchez is another good candidate.

I'm always amazed that meeting at the De Vere doesn't put every footballer and his agent right off...

Phew that reference flew way over the head of 95% of the posters here... Not me though.

Well not so many would remember a 1960's Brazilian tennis player now would they, especially in connection with a Uruguayan footballer. Then again I have an uncle who played left back for Chile in the 1962 world cup so nothing is impossible.

In the 1960s I don't think I even knew what a Brazilian was.

So how is Window Cleaner related to Raul Sanchez?

What currency is that? Dollars, pounds or whatever Uruguay use?

A few words on Bueno from a football writer who follows Uruguayan football

Nick Dorrington ‏@chewingthecoca 7h

Bueno is a quick, tricky wide player who is also capable of playing as a second striker. Good on either foot

Bueno has scored just under a goal every 3 appearances, or 0.41 per 90 mins, since breaking into first team at Nacional in 2011

He shows promise, but the quality of his end product is still very variable and he has a tendency to go missing at times

How very 'Coutinho.'

Can draw comparisons to CR7 to when he first came to England in his first season. 2nd season he found this and look where he is now.

Basically I'm not saying he will be as good (well we can dream), but the fact that young players can only get this from experience. Of course, some never do find it and I would hope he isn't one of them at that price!

Euro

OK I didn't see that, was looking at the English translation but my question is still relevant (see highlighted in the below)

Either it's EUR9.5m or $10m. There's a big difference between them (either GBP8m or GBP6.3m and that's the assumption that the dollar refers to US Dollars which given he plays in South America I assume that it would be)

Just what we need... another young, unproven, unheard of, overpriced Uruguayan from a p*ss poor league with lots of "talent" and bags of "potential".

Judging from our early transfer activity, looks like another season of avoiding relegation is on the cards.
