Someone's having a giggle on Wikipedia and edited to say he's signed for Olympiakos. Would be a good signing though from what I've heard - and free. Not too old either - the Jimmy Case of the modern era.

First signing guess - Figueroa. Strengthen up that left back slot.

Best guess: Astori by June 15th.

Qualifier#1: Is he in the Italy squad for the Confed Cup?

Qualifier#2: The answer to the OP's question has more than a million possible answers, I reckon mine has a 100/1, or tighter, chance of being right though. Which is pretty good!

Nic will delay any incoming transfers for as long as he can !

This is not a strategic business move, it is purely intended to rile Alpine_Saint who is no doubt itching for a re-run of his predictable "we've left it too late, we are doomed !" postings !

At least we will know that the new season is about to start when his apoplexy really sets in !!

In a shock turn of events just before the close of the transfer window Barcelona will sign Ian Branfoot as a surprise manager and he'll offload Neymar and Messi to us in exchange for Guly and De Ridder, commenting to irate Barcelona fans that De Ridder will score more goals this season than the pair of them put together.

We will then realise the error of our ways about Morgan and release him on a free to free up a squad place for Paul Wooton who will arrive back in southampton on an open top bus ride as a hero to the 5,000,000 fans waiting to fill the new Red Bull Solent All Stars stadium.

At this point the FA will declare that the premier league is ours and since we don't need to play to win it we will instead spend the season building our global brand around the world like the Harlem Globe trotters.

This in turn will lead to Southampton Solent All Stars franchises being set up in every country we set foot in.

Matt Le God will spontaneously combust with excitement after claiming that we are about to build a Mega Stadium in a purpose built island in the Atlantic that will house half the worlds population.

You heard it here first.

I think that tells you all you need to know about the quality this guy has, he's in world-class company there.

perhaps we need the ST cash first.:?

Yeah, that Prem prize money is all going to pay off the billion pound BVI loan the Skates say we've got and are unaware of. You know, the one stated as being £3.1m in the last accounts. ;)

Certainly seems the target of having everything tied up by July 1st was utter b*ll*cks.

Oh FFS, I wish someone would tie you up. Maybe stop you posting drivel all the time. What is to stop everything being tied up by July 1st? IF we are targeting any players who are in action at the Confederations Cup then the final of that competition is on June 30th. Sure that any players involved in the final can fly into the UK the next day JULY 1st and sign on the dotted line. Neymar managed to play for Brazil against England and then appear in Monaco the very next day.

Who had fourth of June in the sweepstake?

Whats your problem now, troll ?

I do not see our transfer activity being wrapped up in 4 weeks consideing the level of activity that there appears to be currently. I dont consider it to be an outrageous statement. Maybe the 1st July deadline was just another pressure tactic agains Katharina Liebherr.

I was under the impression that a troll was someone provoking an opinion out of the majority by making unfounded statements. Guess where the majority is on this subject ? Clue : it isn't sh111tting ourselves that we haven't signed anyone by July 1st until it's actually July 2nd, because, you know, a lot can happen in 4 weeks.

not that there was in fact much prize money, about 6 million ? ST sales will bring in over 12 milion £.

Highly rated over here in Austria.

I watch Aston Villa a fair bit (for reasons not very interesting...), and I think he is a very good player... Not that I genuinely think we will sign him, or that we're even considering it but if it was up to me I'd be having a look.

Having said that I'd be a lot happier, if say, Rooney signed...

Yeah but that's just the finishing position money, there's the tv facility fee as well.

Why?

Would be an excellent signing.

He made some huge misses last season, is a long way from the finished article and realistically isn't quite the striker/attacking midfielder that will fit into the free flowing front 3/4/5 we tend to play. We need a striker that can compete with Lambert when Weimann is more in the Billy Sharp mould...

One bad miss against West Ham and you write him off?

I'm not really sure what point is being made about Weimann or Sharp here to be honest.

Weimann's a Villa youth product (or at least he was in their academy system before he made the first team, dunno at what age they signed him), is he holding them up for more cash or out of contract, because I can't see him leaving otherwise, especially if Benteke goes.

Can't compare Weimann and Sharp certainly, Weimann is fast, runs from deep, Sharp is just a goal hanger.
