It wouldnt work, look at QPR, all capable, but if you change an entire team and system it can be a disaster

A very different scenario, many mercenaries there for the wrong reasons.

International football by very definition is a very different animal. If anything I would liken the current England squad to QPR, a dressing room of egos full of their own entitlement.

I don't know why people think the same players would do differently to what they've done for their whole international careers.

What, joe hart kicks the ball out of touch from hand 3-5 times again for city?

2-2

Harmless blind hope I think. Nothing wrong with thinking maybe tonight England will be able to pass the ball and look competent.

Rodwell on

Can someone explain what on earth he has done to deserve to be there?

Hardly part of the furniture in the set up and hardly ever plays

Cork has performed for half a season and 2 goal 1 game supermega man city star gets picked... Hmmmm what's the point of it allllll!

Because he will be a part of the squad next year, good player who has been injured

Why does he have to be? It's almost by default.

I get your points about building a squad. By Rodwell has hardly been part of that. Hardly plays for city. Always injured and has done nothing this season

Tbf yeah Ill concede this one, FWIW I think he will be a great player but he has done nothing this year as he has been injured.

Cork should be there

Out of interest why did ITV have Roy Keane in the studio and Andy Townsend at the pitch. I know that only one is a proper Irishman, but both played for Ireland. Nothing against the Irish, but are there so few English people about, that we have to get Irish to do the commentating and punditry?
