david in sweden Posted 2 June, 2013 Share Posted 2 June, 2013 (edited) here's your chance to play Premier League Manager (...or whatever you want to call it ....) and before we sign anyone else. It's certain we are going to make a few signings...if only because there are so many leaving / OOC / etc. and we need to have a " 25 squad " So if you could choose the first six names on the team sheet (as definites - allowing for form and fitness).......who would they be? ... (then you're allowed to sign the other five to balance out the sqaud. MINE are; Clyne , Shaw, Schneiderlin, Cork and Lambert. P.S. I'm not excluding the likes of ; Lallana, Rodrguez and Puncheon but I've already set my own criteria of six names. OUCH ! ....it's my arthritic finger again ..it s TEAM SHEET of course. MarkSFC Posted 2 June, 2013 Share Posted 2 June, 2013 Boruc, Clyne, Shaw, Schniederlin, Ramirez, Rodriguez. So, we need to sign 2 x CBs, 1 x CM, and 2 x Attackers/strikers/wingers. Names; Astori, Ince, Lamela, Nangelbandon..(whatever his name is), and A N Other CB! That would leave; Gazzinga; Yoshida; Fonte; Cork; JWP; S Davis; Lallana; Puncheon; Lambert; probably Guly and then the kids. Pretty happy if that happens, certainly more than capable of top 10 with that talent on board!!
Shroppie Posted 2 June, 2013 Share Posted 2 June, 2013 Clyne, Shaw, Cork, Schneiderlin, Rodriguez, Ramirez. Lambert will still be important but I think we'll see a lot more of him from the bench. Either J-Rod will step up or we need a top class striker to progress.
SNSUN Posted 2 June, 2013 Share Posted 2 June, 2013 Clyne, Shaw, Morgan, Cork, Rodriguez, Ramirez. The same 6 players we shouldn't be looking to sell. It was hard not to include Boruc or Lambert in there, and difficult to leave Lallana out too after all he's done for us in our rise up through the leagues. It also shows how weak we are at CB. MOSaint Posted 2 June, 2013 Share Posted 2 June, 2013 -------------------------Boruc----------------------- Clyne------------new------------new-----------Shaw ------------------Cork-----------Schneiderlin--------- new---------------------Ramirez------------------new --------------------------new------------------------ If the side wants to cement itself comfortably in the top half, we need more quality at CB, a striker that combines Lambert's strength and Rodriguez' mobility and attacking midfielders/wingers with a better, more consistent final ball/cross/finish. Saint Garrett Posted 2 June, 2013 Share Posted 2 June, 2013 After this season, I'd have Puncheon over Lallana, JRod and Davis, and possibly Gaston.

Smirking_Saint Posted 2 June, 2013 Share Posted 2 June, 2013 Boruc, Clyne, Yoshi, shaw, schneiderlin, ramirez, maybe cork New players in all other positions, a mobile forward to make us competetive, two tricky pacey wingers, a dominant CB and a CM to be of same quality or better than cork and morgan. The9 Posted 2 June, 2013 Share Posted 2 June, 2013 First names on my Saints team sheet as it stands are Boruc, Clyne, Shaw, Schneiderlin, Cork, Rodriguez. Pretty much everyone else is an either/or, and I have greater expectations for us up front and a lot more flexibility next season.
sammysaint Posted 2 June, 2013 Share Posted 2 June, 2013 I would also choose Gaston, he has shown brilliance this season proving if he can adapt himself he would be quality, also i notice he plays balls that are more suited to the quicker player, problem we have is if Lallana and Punch have off days theres no spare natural winger, we need a Ince or Phillips or one of MPs Speedy tricky wingers from his time in Spain, if we have this Gaston will play the balls to them allowing the crosses to get in and for him to find space to score on the edge of the area. This season Fonte and Lallana were quality before there injuries and i feel Gastons injury also played a part in his poor season, not saying he was quality before hand, just adapting to the prem takes some players longer and injuries effect there settling in period. david in sweden Posted 2 June, 2013 Author Share Posted 2 June, 2013 What is a tream? Boruc, Spiderman, Shaw, Cork, Clyne and Lambert for me you didn't read all of the OP -did you Glasgow? ...but since you ask...there is an explanation at the end of that post, but if you can't accept that....... then I'll apply to have it placed in the next publication of an English Dictionary as a new word....
