Saint Garrett Posted 29 January, 2014 Author Posted 29 January, 2014 Even had his song sung last night....no need for it to be soooooooo FAST though !
Smirking_Saint Posted 29 January, 2014 Posted 29 January, 2014 But the post was best cm in prem. toure and cabaye better as they score. Toure and Cabaye are better because they are just better, not just with the goals they score
Window Cleaner Posted 29 January, 2014 Posted 29 January, 2014 Toure and Cabaye are better because they are just better, not just with the goals they score but they don't recover the ball as well which is the primary job of a DM, Morgan is a DM he's there to tackle, intercept and set us moving forward again his primary role isn't to score goals. It's what's know in France as a "6" or milieu recuperateur. We lack a real 8 or milieu "relayeur", mainly because we have 2 6s.

Watching yesterday I think that Cork was primarily the DM and Morgan played the more dynamic game. Incidentally yes he is used more to win the ball then say Cabaye and Toure but of all the CMs in the prem I think they are more alike as seem to play the box to box role.

Cabaye really doesn't tackle well at all and no we play with 2 6s and no 8, one left, one right, when you have attacking FBs such as ours the DMs cannot go wandering forward all of the time.. Neither is stationed exclusively in front of the defence. Morgan gets forward quite a bit when he can but if you look closely (and this is probably something that only TV viewers will see) he always appraises what's going on around him first and lays the ball off and drops back if there is insufficient cover. A truly intelligent player, always at the service of the collective effort.
S-Clarke Posted 29 January, 2014 Posted 29 January, 2014 His stats from last night: Passes completed: 63/68 Ball recoveries: 7 Tackles: 6 Interceptions: 3 Clearances: 1 Incredible really.
positivepete Posted 29 January, 2014 Posted 29 January, 2014 http://www.whoscored.com/Matches/720714/MatchReport Not often that a team has a higher pass completion than Arsenal in a head to head.
Avenue Saint Posted 3 July, 2015 Posted 3 July, 2015 People's interesting valuations of Morgan. Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
