Hatch Posted 29 May, 2013 Share Posted 29 May, 2013 first thing, I think the kit looks OK, better than I thought it would. Hopefully a nice 3 or 4 nil win

Batman Posted 29 May, 2013 Share Posted 29 May, 2013 We are just not getting any better with roy 2 banks of 4. Try to be solid and throw in lot of crosses. To, err, Sturridge No invention. No risk. Lawton has been miles better than johnson. Rooney been gash for weeks. Chamberlain has done nothing for arsenal to warrant this start Just same old crap. Thought Roy would have been different 1-1 now
Saint_clark Posted 29 May, 2013 Share Posted 29 May, 2013 Where's Walcotts pace gone? When he was with us he would knock it past players and sprint past them in a flash, he tried it just then and looked slow as anything.

Thought Roy would have been different 1-1 now I'm not even watching it. Can't be bothered. I looked at the starting XI and thought I'm going to learn absolutely nothing new. We'll flatter to deceive, probably grind out a 2-1 win. I agree about Hodgson, with his background at the likes of Blackburn, Fulham and West Brom I thought he'd have more emphasis on players from the less fashionable clubs, realising that they'll be fitter and more hungry to impress. Particularly in friendlies.
Smirking_Saint Posted 29 May, 2013 Share Posted 29 May, 2013 Well, the goal was poor between Johnson and Cahill, needed better communication and had to defend that cross better. We are playing a 4231 of sorts from what I can see, Carrick is an excellent ball player but he isnt there to break up play, frank gets forward too much for that role. Rooney seems to have a free role behind Sturridge (who looked good before getting injured again) but has done absolutely nothing, though Lampard and Ox seem to be running into his space. Walcott and Ox just arent getting at them enough and look poor. Basically, you win and lose games in midfield, currently Ireland are better there, Id push Frank up and get Rodwell in alongside Carrick.
Smirking_Saint Posted 29 May, 2013 Share Posted 29 May, 2013 Oh and BTW what a tit Hodgson is, I remember him saying we are a striker and defender light, but will be ok if we dont get injuries...... Well, um, we just lost a striker
edprice1984 Posted 29 May, 2013 Share Posted 29 May, 2013 This is now Lambert's best chance to be called up. Sturridge injured meaning we now have only Rooney (who looks like he can't be bothered), Welbeck (who has scored TWO goals all season) and Defoe (who has spent most of the season on the bench). I am not holding my breath, but you never know!?

Lambert wont be called up, he has been poor the last few games, apparantly he is injured but I dont know, whenever he is out of form it seems to be because he has been carrying an injury nobody knew about. Dr Who? Posted 29 May, 2013 Share Posted 29 May, 2013 I think what the commentator is looking for is that the players want to go on holiday for the summer. Saint_clark Posted 29 May, 2013 Share Posted 29 May, 2013 the amount of times we get in real good positions and choose the wrong option/cross is unreal....walcott is criminal for this. And Johnson, there was one run near the end of the game where he was put in down the right with no Irish players ahead of him and he slowed down and played a lazy cross at the defender, whereas Clyne when played into that situation bombs into the box and tries a shot or cut back. Badger Posted 30 May, 2013 Share Posted 30 May, 2013 I bet the team wearing it in 2014 do not win the World Cup! Probably won't qualify for it either. Well, the squad has potential, but Woy is tactically useless You have to remember though that Woy was selected mainly because he wasn't Wedknapp. And even when his spell comes to an end there are very few, if any, credible candidates. I hate England games, have not been any good for years. When did England v Eire ever throw up anything other than a dull stalemate ? Probably when the match was abandoned. I wish we had gone for Redknapp TBH, plays attractive football and usually does ok, you'd just have to put up with his constant soundbites but we arent going to escape them anyway. Im not going to go into it as I cant be bothered, but I know why you puck majority of top 6 team players, but to set the team up like that and look completely abject. Ireland brought on Connor Sammon FFS ! Woy needs help from a someone who has studied a book of tactics within the last 5 years
