How big will our squad need to be?

Under Pochettino, we started very brightly, pressing and harrassing teams into making mistakes, and playing some brilliant stuff. There was also a number of 'tired' looking performances under him

So how big will our squad need to be next season. Can our team play week in week out all season with the system that Pochettino wants to play? For me this system requires 2 players per position who are more than capable, and then a couple of others who can do versitile jobs. Also I would say that 3 subs will be used in more or less every game next season as players look knackered by around the hour mark.

Hopefully they'll be looking to build up their stamina over the summer so they can play at their best for longer.

The games at the end of the season, we were starting to look evidently shattered and the players deserve a break now.

So looking at the current squad (missing out the ones I would expect to leave)

GK: Boruc/Gazza (Davis)

RB: Clyne, ?, (Chambers)

LB: Shaw, ?, (Targett)

CB: ?, Forren, Yoshi, Fonte

CM: Morgan, Cork, ?, JWP

RW/LW/AM: Gaston, Davis, Puncheon, Lallana, J-Rod, ? (Guly)

ST: ?, Lambert, (Mayuka)

So for me thats 5 necessity's, possibly 3/4 depending on how good Chambers and Targett are? Ones in brackets I would expect to be 'extras' filling in gaps when needed.

Remember that Davis and Ward-Prowse can both play in holding or offensive roles.

Our style requires a high level of fitness so I'd expect the squad to be a bit deeper, but in honesty the only player I regularly see fading off towards the ends of games is Lambert. He's fitter than he's ever been but that's where we might need someone

I doubt Kelvin Davis is going to leave this summer, he signed a new deal until 2016 recently.

I reckon he was more signed as a goal keeping coach rather than a player. His ability is definitely premier league just age has got the better of him imo.
