That announcement image looks like it was thrown together in Paint! Somebody didn't have the source files for the logos...

They chose the wrong file format.

JPEG is really good for photos that have a lot of variance, but you're better off with a PNG for logos and suchlike.

I was more concerned with the silly black blocks behind each logo (the silver version of ours would've had plenty of contrast), but yeah the artifacts around what should be sharp edges looks amateurish too.

Bodes well for the quality of the kit (and yes, I'm well aware it'll probably just be a template with our badge/sponsor affixed) ;)

The one of the OS is even worse...looks 70s at best

I would have thought that they would have gotrid of the black background at least

@CallumWDonnelly: Dear @adidasUK, please give us our stripes back. Regards, #saintsfc fans

@adidasUK: @CallumWDonnelly Noted!

Would they have replied to me if we weren't getting a striped shirt?

On a serious note, I have adidas trainers so I'm happy. I hope no one comes out and says we have a deal with adeeedas, hate that pronunciation.

Don't worry, you'll get three stripes running down each sleeve.

Come on bedwetters, lets not worry about the quality of the advert. Its a new manufacturer FFS, not Take Hart.

I'm the polar opposite of a bedwetter

It was built up as some big reveal, the least that could have been done was to prepare an image befitting an announcement. Perhaps it's just because it jars when compared with the brand-centric approach we've become accustomed to under Mr Cortese's iron rule. I hope they spent a little longer on putting the kit itself together, that's all!

Someone else mentioned the same I think on the Echo site - joint megastore in West Quay and that the SMS Megastore will only open on match days.

Don't know about the SMS megastore but I posted on the kit thread a while ago that there were at least initial plans to move the West Quay shop to a bigger site (within West Quay) and have a joint megastore with Adidas.

adidas are a well know kit manufacturer and thats great but I just hope we get a decent kit design this year. This seasons kit took some getting used too. I didn't mind it in the end but it would be great to have a more fan pleasing design this year. I know from what I've read on here that I should expect another bland mostly red shirt again. I just hope it's not going to be as bad as some are making out.

As long as they don't produce the kit in JPG format, we should be fine :)

Yes, yes they would. That black with gold panel pretty much confirms what we've been discussing on the Pointless Kit Thread for months.

It appears the home kit will be plain red with some white under the arms, the away black with gold in a similar design (and probably using the monochrome gold badge design on the away kit). Let's just say I like the sound of the away kit.

Any Adidas Originals templates? Would be pretty cool to have another 'retro' looking shirt.

If it's plain red with white shoulder stripes you're after... no trefoil though, adidas refuse to use it on football kits now for some reason.

Just confirmed what I told you about 3 weeks ago. Its Adidas, and the home kit is solid red, with a very small amount of white, and the away kit is black and gold.

And there will be a new sponsor. And it won't be Red Bull or Bacardi, or Grey Goose or any other drinks brand.

Hint for the new sponsor? You're a decent guy, don't be a complete tease and leave us hanging!
