ART Posted 29 May, 2013 Posted 29 May, 2013 In China a new born baby rescued after mothers throw him down the toilet. Incredible photos of the rescue. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2331941/Chinese-baby-rescued-ALIVE-toilet-pipe-flushed-away-parents.html
EastleighSoulBoy Posted 29 May, 2013 Posted 29 May, 2013 It's being reported that the woman who raised the alarm has actually been found to be the infant's mother. WARNING: This link contains a video which many may find distressing. http://news.ninemsn.com.au/world/2013/05/29/15/17/china-s-pipe-baby-mum-found
bridge too far Posted 29 May, 2013 Posted 29 May, 2013 Dreadful and very distressing but what a tough little boy! I hope he finds a good home once he's out of hospital. As a mother and grandmother it's beyond my comprehension that a mother could do this sort of thing but then I don't live in China where families are limited to one child (some would advocate the same here for SOME families) or there's more shame attached to illegitimate births. That clip gives her version of events - I think I'll wait for 'proof' of what happened before I lambast her.
ART Posted 29 May, 2013 Author Posted 29 May, 2013 Trying to come to grips that this may have been one horrible accident. I have begun to wonder whether the mother was squatting over the floor toilet and gave birth. I have seen these types of toilets in China and the hole is pretty large and if it was a shared toilet it may only have automatic flushing at regular intervals. Certainly a miracle that the little one survived such a horrible entrance into the world.

Convict Colony Posted 30 May, 2013 Posted 30 May, 2013 (edited) Without being viewed as cynical on South African news they are saying she is taking the baby back as then she avoids prosecution in china as it was an "accident". If that is the case then china may well make wicked gadgets at cheap prices and make Karl pilkington dry gag but its a morally bankrupt country, reminds me of the 2 trucks who ran over the same 5 yr old in the street and people continued walking past the dead body for an hour or something (from memory).
