Golden Balls Posted 28 May, 2013 Posted 28 May, 2013 Alcohol companies cannot sponsor sports clubs that attract young people, it's the law! Best to let Everton know.
EBS1980 Posted 28 May, 2013 Posted 28 May, 2013 Alcohol companies cannot sponsor sports clubs that attract young people, it's the law! So how come Everton are then?
CB Fry Posted 28 May, 2013 Posted 28 May, 2013 Best to let Everton know. When the FA find out about them they'll probably kick them out of the FA Cup. Sponsored by Budweiser.
altoniansaints Posted 28 May, 2013 Posted 28 May, 2013 As i understood it they can sponsor but the childrens replica shirts are not allowed to have the sponsor on the front
The9 Posted 28 May, 2013 Posted 28 May, 2013 As i understood it they can sponsor but the childrens replica shirts are not allowed to have the sponsor on the front This is correct. Same goes for betting companies. Not sure about tampon companies.
SO16_Saint Posted 28 May, 2013 Author Posted 28 May, 2013 I'm guessing @RedBullSaints was set up today, and the 6 people they're following is all for show. Or is it?
Golden Balls Posted 28 May, 2013 Posted 28 May, 2013 I'm guessing @RedBullSaints was set up today, and the 6 people they're following is all for show. Or is it? Damn, someone from here beat me to it. Love that aap3 is following them.
Badger Posted 28 May, 2013 Posted 28 May, 2013 Both sponsors would look okay in my opinion. However, like others have said Red Bull would want full control etc etc.....That kit on the other hand is disgusting. God help us if we end up with that. Agree totally, but it seems we are at the mercy of Cortese in respect of the shirt.
The9 Posted 28 May, 2013 Posted 28 May, 2013 That kit is f*cking dreadful. What, the red adidas teamwear looking one ? It's going to be something like that if certain rumours have any validity.
Badger Posted 28 May, 2013 Posted 28 May, 2013 What, the red adidas teamwear looking one ? It's going to be something like that if certain rumours have any validity. Solution then if they do come up with something like that is to campaign not to buy it. But we all know mindless saps will buy anything to keep up to date.
Saint Garrett Posted 28 May, 2013 Posted 28 May, 2013 What, the red adidas teamwear looking one ? It's going to be something like that if certain rumours have any validity. The plain red one. Absolutely hideous. Rumours from who?! Or just a few wannabe ITK's on here?
The9 Posted 28 May, 2013 Posted 28 May, 2013 (edited) The plain red one. Absolutely hideous. Rumours from who?! Or just a few wannabe ITK's on here? We'll see if they're wannabes or not in the next couple of months... though the adidas thing has come from a few decent sources and a couple of people have said "plain red" and "black away" independently - we'll see if they were just copying others. Oh, and I know a bloke who's spoken to one of the players and HE said there are "no stripes". Edited 28 May, 2013 by The9
Saint Garrett Posted 28 May, 2013 Posted 28 May, 2013 What a farce. Ill have to wait another year to buy my next shirt then! Wish I'd bought our promotion striped shirt now, loved that one! And our away kit should always be YELLOWS!
brett24 Posted 28 May, 2013 Posted 28 May, 2013 New twitter account called red bull saints followed by Southampton's official account and Jordan Sibley looks like that confirms Red bull.
Saint_lambden Posted 28 May, 2013 Posted 28 May, 2013 New twitter account called red bull saints followed by Southampton's official account and Jordan Sibley looks like that confirms Red bull. It's following the official account, not being followed by. Big difference.
brett24 Posted 28 May, 2013 Posted 28 May, 2013 Sorry my mistake, prob a wind up account got to stop looking on twitter!
SO16_Saint Posted 28 May, 2013 Author Posted 28 May, 2013 New twitter account called red bull saints followed by Southampton's official account and Jordan Sibley looks like that confirms Red bull. @redbullsaints are FOLLOWING those, not being FOLLOWED by
brett24 Posted 28 May, 2013 Posted 28 May, 2013 @redbullsaints are FOLLOWING those, not being FOLLOWED by Sorry, my mistake must be a wind up!
SO16_Saint Posted 28 May, 2013 Author Posted 28 May, 2013 Sorry, my mistake must be a wind up! Ha - yep, probably. There's no clue on the Official twitter feed either, other than Eterna Watches, which would be my guess as new sponsors, personally.
trousers Posted 28 May, 2013 Posted 28 May, 2013 Ok, own up... Who stole my idea...? I see Red Bull have a Twitter account for all those teams... just needs a swift bright spark entrepreneur to grab the @redbullsaints twitter name before they do...
trousers Posted 28 May, 2013 Posted 28 May, 2013 (edited) confirmation that we will still have aap3? I would say that's carefully worded to cater for either eventuality... i.e. They can maintain the longstanding relationship without retaining the kit sponsorship side of things... Edited 28 May, 2013 by trousers
Saint Scott Posted 28 May, 2013 Posted 28 May, 2013 Incidently aap3 have now stopped following @redbullsaints. What was all that about then?
bowers-sfc Posted 28 May, 2013 Posted 28 May, 2013 ohh yeah.. follow me on twitter for bull**** tweets:smug:
SO16_Saint Posted 28 May, 2013 Author Posted 28 May, 2013 (edited) .... Edited 28 May, 2013 by SO16_Saint
BlakeySFC Posted 28 May, 2013 Posted 28 May, 2013 I would say that's carefully worded to cater for either eventuality... i.e. They can maintain the longstanding relationship without retaining the kit sponsorship side of things... Isn't @aap3saints on twitter SO16_Saint on here?
adrian lord Posted 28 May, 2013 Posted 28 May, 2013 You're all barking up the wrong tree - Cortese's has inked a deal with Durex.
Saint Scott Posted 28 May, 2013 Posted 28 May, 2013 Why has so16 now edited his post from it has legs/wings to ...?
Colinjb Posted 28 May, 2013 Posted 28 May, 2013 Why has so16 now edited his post from it has legs/wings to ...? Give the lad his privacy.
alehouseboys Posted 29 May, 2013 Posted 29 May, 2013 Both sponsors would look okay in my opinion. However, like others have said Red Bull would want full control etc etc.....That kit on the other hand is disgusting. God help us if we end up with that. Now, I know we're only playing but...if it were anything like this one then it could be argued that it was a variation of stripes, just a big thick middle red stripe (a kind of a reverse...ish style of the Keegan kit). I'd go with something like that rather than all red personally.
alehouseboys Posted 29 May, 2013 Posted 29 May, 2013 confirmation that we will still have aap3? I would say that's carefully worded to cater for either eventuality... i.e. They can maintain the longstanding relationship without retaining the kit sponsorship side of things... I wonder if it was possible to do a deal where a new major sponsor were on the home shirts and aap3 were on the away, maybe just for the final year of their shirt sponsorship, has that ever been done before, ? Can't see it myself, more likely aap just remaining a partner in other areas of the club.
Wiggles31 Posted 29 May, 2013 Posted 29 May, 2013 I seem to recall us being sponsored by Mercedes, doesn't mean it is a shirt sponsor.
jasoneuelllfanclub Posted 29 May, 2013 Posted 29 May, 2013 Dont get the hate towards the kit mock ups. People need to get over the stripes argument as they are clearly not going to return whilst NC is in charge. Putting that aside the mock ups look really smart and if we end up with something like these then I will be happy with them.
Window Cleaner Posted 29 May, 2013 Posted 29 May, 2013 Meh, looks a little bit better than the stuck on aap3 I guess. what's with the mini French flag underneath the Grey Goose logo then ? Right got it, it's distilled in France. Still nice job advertising it all over this forum, take a pay rise and a bonus that man.
Hatch Posted 29 May, 2013 Posted 29 May, 2013 ref the AAP3 tweet above. They may not have any plans to change, doesn;'t mean the club don't
trousers Posted 29 May, 2013 Posted 29 May, 2013 aap³ Saints @aap3saints14m Welcome - @adidasfootball @adidasUK - good to have you on board. Looking forward to the journey#saintsfc #allin
Saint Garrett Posted 29 May, 2013 Posted 29 May, 2013 I wouldn't be against Grey Goose, think the logo is quite classy.
Big Bad Bob Posted 29 May, 2013 Posted 29 May, 2013 I wouldn't be against Grey Goose, think the logo is quite classy. Is it the done thing to be sponsored by an alcoholic beverage, it might encourage young people to suddenly start swilling larger quantities of vodka!!
Gemmel Posted 29 May, 2013 Posted 29 May, 2013 I am sure there has been a thread on this before, but assuming we are looking for a new sponsor / s of sorts (I.e not necessarily the kit) and given the media packs that have apparently sent out, then is it likely that the stadium name might be up for grabs? I hope Staplewood is renamed in honour of Markus, but I wouldn't be against a change of stadium name if the finances were right. The Stella Artois Stadium has a nice ring to it :) (And yes, that is just a pure guess)
The9 Posted 29 May, 2013 Posted 29 May, 2013 Now, I know we're only playing but...if it were anything like this one then it could be argued that it was a variation of stripes, just a big thick middle red stripe (a kind of a reverse...ish style of the Keegan kit). I'd go with something like that rather than all red personally. Yeah, the only problem with that is that the style above is not possible from the way the kit template pieces are laid out. There's no "piece" to go under the armpit arrow bit, the shirt wraps around from the back, so unless the front is red and the back is white, you can't actually do the design.
Saint Charlie Posted 29 May, 2013 Posted 29 May, 2013 Can someone mock up a photo of Lamela, Astori and Jay Rod celebrating a goal in next season's black away kit with the Red Bull sponsor logo?
Rusaldo Posted 29 May, 2013 Posted 29 May, 2013 Yeah, the only problem with that is that the style above is not possible from the way the kit template pieces are laid out. There's no "piece" to go under the armpit arrow bit, the shirt wraps around from the back, so unless the front is red and the back is white, you can't actually do the design. Do you know what template are Ajax using? Are the arrows under the armpit confirmed?
The9 Posted 29 May, 2013 Posted 29 May, 2013 Do you know what template are Ajax using? Are the arrows under the armpit confirmed? It's just something someone casually mentioned, apropos of nothing, but I know someone who knows someone who's said "all red, no stripes (except the adidas ones), and the white "arrow" was mentioned by someone who presumably hadn't seen that two adidas templates this year have "triangle" shaped underarm pieces. Ajax home isn't released yet, there's a Portland Timbers MLS adidas shirt that looks like a reverse Patrick Rank Xerox, but we're not having that. Get on the pointless thread to see where we're up to with the speculation !
ollysaints1 Posted 29 May, 2013 Posted 29 May, 2013 Has anyone mentioned that Red Bull could be the new stadium sponsor? It'd certainly help if we did plan to extend the capacity.
Golden Balls Posted 29 May, 2013 Posted 29 May, 2013 Having done a bit of snooping, it seems very unlikely Bacardi or Grey Goose will be the kit sponsor. Just rumours flying around the office as the company are quite close to the club. Shame, I would have lapped up the freebies.
alehouseboys Posted 29 May, 2013 Posted 29 May, 2013 Yeah, the only problem with that is that the style above is not possible from the way the kit template pieces are laid out. There's no "piece" to go under the armpit arrow bit, the shirt wraps around from the back, so unless the front is red and the back is white, you can't actually do the design. This is the 2013/14 Seattle Sounders shirt and that appears to have an under arm panel of sorts... http://proshop.soundersfc.com/ProductDetail.aspx?CategoryID=2679&ProductID=38367 And the much talked about black and gold away shirt does tie in quite nicely with the mentioned black and gold F1 Lotus logo...
