Viking Warrior Posted 27 May, 2013 Posted 27 May, 2013 Pap . The organisation is called object . And I want to hear what their views are on all the female mags that are on sale as well .
Viking Warrior Posted 27 May, 2013 Posted 27 May, 2013 Duncan RG they state they have a couple of lawyers will to take a test case against supermarkets etc . So until they do that nothing changes . I suspect if they do go through the courts questioning the equality act then it could take a good couple years as it goes through each stage of the legal process . This group has managed to get their agenda on the front page no pun intended . There are far more important issues under the equality act that need to be addressed first before worrying about lads mags .
The Kraken Posted 27 May, 2013 Posted 27 May, 2013 Lads mags like zoo, FHM etc to be banned or the shops may face prosecution They portray women in a disgusting light and promote violence against women. Well. That is what feminist groups want It's an outrage. TheDellDays would never have stood for it. Grrrrrr.

They are going to be banned - which is what the title of your thread says, and your first sentence says - or this is what feminist groups want. Make up your mind.
Lord Duckhunter Posted 28 May, 2013 Posted 28 May, 2013 Pap . The organisation is called object . And I want to hear what their views are on all the female mags that are on sale as well . I want to see what they look like, pound to a penny, they're all a load of ugly trouts.
DuncanRG Posted 28 May, 2013 Posted 28 May, 2013 I want to see what they look like, pound to a penny, they're all a load of ugly trouts. You really are vile.
Batman Posted 28 May, 2013 Author Posted 28 May, 2013 So, which is it? They are going to be banned - which is what the title of your thread says, and your first sentence says - or this is what feminist groups want. Make up your mind. It's quite clear what it says when you read the thread The title is more of an attention grabber.
scotty Posted 28 May, 2013 Posted 28 May, 2013 Lads mags tend to be only read by mongs on building sites anyway. When you say "read".......
Hamilton Saint Posted 28 May, 2013 Posted 28 May, 2013 It's quite clear what it says when you read the thread The title is more of an attention grabber. Like the tabloid press, you mean - provocative, but misleading.
OldNick Posted 29 May, 2013 Posted 29 May, 2013 When you walk home at night, are you afraid you'll get raped? This is not a woman's world. It's a man's world in almost every way and a lot of men, for some reason, feel threatened by women fighting to earn the rights that men have enjoyed for centuries. I should point out that I wouldn't necessarily include this particular case in that fight. On that topic, however, there are massive differences between the treatment of men and women in the media. Although it is shifting and we are seeing more sexualised, fragmented images of men this is what women have had everywhere they look, every single day for decades. Unrealistic body images, judgement for failure to adhere to it and solutions offered in the form of commercial products. And most of the time, even highly sexualised male models tend to be portrayed as powerful & aspirational figures rather than submissive objects of desire. Here are some good examples of the differences, and here as if these magazines make rape more likely. We live in a suppressed society, it would be not wresting to see how sexual assaults etc are higher n the more relaxes societies like Sweden. Sex is a tool that women have successfully used on men since the dawn of time, and it is not men who have the chip on the shoulder. As Cynthia Payne said ' you can get no sense out of a man until you have de spu"""" him.' How true an observation that is. IMO the majority of women or men find little harm in these mags, a woman must feel special when she attracts attention by how she looks. Feminists have their own agenda and if it is to help women get equality in many areas of society then great.
Tokyo-Saint Posted 29 May, 2013 Posted 29 May, 2013 FFS Duncan, I clicked on those examples thinking the might be good. You should put a warning - camp builders behind this link not fit b1tches. So what's your point? Cause men tend be be portraited as masculine as this is what women want to see and women are portraited as a bit ditzy, we shouldn't get to see glamour models but the girls can fire away. Butch girls and camp guys tend to attractive to gays. This doesn't make the rest of us rapists.
