I think the Pony tick kit is awful, but at least it makes an effort at stripes, unlike this and (apparently) next year's. :(

You would rather have that pony kit than the current one?

You really are precious about your kits!!

It's just a football top. It will be red. It will have bits of white on it. It will change a year or two after

It would be quite dull if we had red and white stripes every single season as there is so much you can tweak the design.

That pony kit is probably one of our worst ever

The Pony one was sh it but about a gazillion times better than our current abomination.

It's almost certainly one of the worst striped efforts, but at least it's stripes. FWIW it will definitely change one year after not two, all adidas kit deals change all shirts every season nowadays, plus the sponsorship deal runs out at the end of 2013/14 as well.

It wouldn't be dull if we had red and white stripes every single season, there is an infinite amount of tweaking, adidas change all their templates annually anyway, and it didn't seem to be a problem from 1989-2010 when we changed purely striped shirt styles eleven times without suffering from kits looking too similar (and in the couple of years before that we had the arguably striped Denmark-style hummel too).

What is it with the stripe brigade, bloody hate the kits we have had in the last 20 years that had stripes in them. I would be interested to know the age brackets of the stripe loving fans.

Interesting.

I'm 29.

If they didn't care, why would they vote?

Because they feel it is important that their lack of strong feeling on the matter is taken into consideration. And at the moment they're 4% ahead of "plain colour".

40, love the stripes, didn't support Saints until first moving to Southampton in 1991 though. Also love the Patrick Rank Xerox, and both the Denmark Hummel and the hummel regular stripe. Dislike the plain red Patrick kit with the shoulder flashes, which until the sash was the only non-striped Saints kit for about 100 years. Absolutely detest the current home kit.

So you liked the sash and this seasons kit. And you hated all the other kits. Hated. All of them. Fair enough.

"Stripe loving fans". LOL. It is our actual, you know, kit.

So, the results are in for June 2013, after one season of a plain red kit :

Stripes 64%

Sash 14%

Don't Mind 13%

Plain colour 10%

So it looks like our rumoured next kit will be the least popular choice, again. We can but hope for stripes.

Note the quirky rounding error to 101%, pedants.

When was the last time a team in stripes won the top English league? I don't think it's happened in my life time and I'm quite old!!

Liverpool in 1984/5 ish if you believe the pinstripe apologists on here. :)

1936 i think

Yup, I can't find one more recent than Sunderland either.

Though for those making the obvious mental jump here, can I suggest we also move the club to the North West of England, which has produced nearly 30 times as many title winners as the South East.

This is worth a bump now we've got sight of the twitter "leak of what is believed to be the 2013/14 kit :

Though you can discuss it here if you like : http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?41881-Pointless-Early-2013-14-Kit-Speculation-Thread/page41#.UcRNCDv_mSq

The point being that if the poll is any indication, it's only supported by 9.66% of fans, which is fewer than even the "don't mind"s.

One question. If some people are saying it must be borigg having stripes every year, how must Man U, Liverpool, Everton, Tottenham fans feel having to only have one colour?

The argument that we need to change to something completely different is moronic.
