I know there are a few kit threads around already, but I think there should be a definitive poll indicating whether Saints fans (the ones on here anyway), feel Saints should wear red and white stripes, plain shirts (that could be red as last season, or white), the sash kit which was so popular previously, or if they're not really bothered what kit the team wears.

Mods, any chance of a poll with the question

"In home matches, should Saints wear :

* Stripes

* Mainly one colour

* Sash

* Don't mind"

Could be a useful pointer for opinion when the new shirts are launched. You may note that I'm trying to be as neutral as possible here so as not to skew results. A week should be long enough to get a decent cross-section ?

Like the sash and unlike many others I really like the current home shirt, stripes are our most used shirt in times past but I don't see why we have to always have stripes, I prefer us to be unique whether it's with stripes or not.

I really don't mind. Grew up in an era of Rank Xerox, centenary shirt and the Hummell shirt so I don't have such an affinity to stripes. The sash was great as a one off, and shouldn't / won't be repeated. If you want a nod to history how about quarters of red and white?

I have to say I liked the Sash - my favourite kit. That said I reckon it'll be between stripes and how it is currently - and stripes (or two-tone like the Air Florida kit) wins that vote, not that I have any major problems with the current shirt, it's just I grew up with Saints wearing stripes.

+ 1, a nod to our history and differentiates us a bit.

This is exactly what I thought when I voted sash. We've played in stripes almost every season since I started following Saints but that doesn't mean that you have to continue with it just because. We have several different designs that can make us stand out more and that also have a historic connection with the club. I'd like the club to go out and have the sash for a few seasons, so that that design becomes the one people identify us with.

I actually liked this seasons shirt, but then I like it when we mix the kits up a bit so it's not just a variation of stripes every time we change. 2 of my favourite shirts are the centenary one and the 99-01 home kit which barely counts as stripes either

I take it that you already know again, and this is some weird exercise in taking-the-p*ss. FWIW i am bored with stripes and want a Rank Xerox kit

Rank Xerox - but only when we're going for that Champions League spot in it, in a couple of seasons. Wouldn't want my childhood memories tarnished :)

Beyond that, it can get mixed up a bit, just as the club have done in the past. I'm not a huge fan of just the stripes though.

If we do go back to stripes, I like the idea of mixing it up a bit. A bit like:

but not as ghey. (Although that is one of my favourite home strips since being a Saints fan...)

that kit is absolutely horrific. The worst example of stripes you can get

Rank Xerox reversed with a wide red stripe in the centre please.

But that strip though would just be a copy of the Ajax strip.

Although it would still be infinitely preferable to this season's effort.
