PaulSaint Posted 22 May, 2013 Posted 22 May, 2013 Great Saturday afternoon memories for those of us of a certain age. RIP Mick. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/showbiz/news/a483638/wrestler-mick-mcmanus-dies-aged-93.html
buctootim Posted 22 May, 2013 Posted 22 May, 2013 (edited) RIP Mick. 93 though, that means he must have been 55 for that 1975 fight with Catweazle (who I always wanted to win). Saw them both on the Royal Pier once when I was about 14, among the fake palm trees with a coke. Heady days Edited 22 May, 2013 by buctootim
ZepSaint Posted 22 May, 2013 Posted 22 May, 2013 Wasn't he the guy that used to wear a white / green wrestling 'suit' that had shamrock's running up it ? Or is my memory playing tricks on me in my old age ...........
ZepSaint Posted 22 May, 2013 Posted 22 May, 2013 Nope, scratch that ................. Was Dave 'Fit' Finlay ......................:-)
Dimond Geezer Posted 22 May, 2013 Posted 22 May, 2013 93 Wow (although according to wiki he was 87). It never realised these guys were middle-aged/almost pensionable when they were throwing themselves around back in the 70s-80s. It may have been all fake, but their bodies still went through the ringer. Rip.
Wade Garrett Posted 22 May, 2013 Posted 22 May, 2013 He always used to get grabbed by the ears. World of Sport wrestling legend. Right up there with Big Daddy, Giant Haystacks and Kendo Nagasaki.
Hamilton Saint Posted 22 May, 2013 Posted 22 May, 2013 Wow! Mick McManus. That was a long time ago. Wrestling on ITV, Saturday afternoon, IIRC. And then there was Billy Two Rivers
EastleighSoulBoy Posted 22 May, 2013 Posted 22 May, 2013 He always used to get grabbed by the ears. World of Sport wrestling legend. Right up there with Big Daddy, Giant Haystacks and Kendo Nagasaki. Add Jackie Pallo to that list, it was often he who would pull Mick's ears. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jackie_Pallo
Badger Posted 22 May, 2013 Posted 22 May, 2013 Les Kellett (Kallett) was another from that golden (black and white screen ) era And Kent Walton

Kev Posted 23 May, 2013 Posted 23 May, 2013 I met his cousin when I was a kid on holiday on the Isle of Wight. Poor lady was the spitting image of him.
